Out of these options, seeing how, due to higher administration, a huge home run hire isn't going to happen, what would you rather have?

Is there an "other" option, or possibly a "One Season Ban" option?

On a realistic note, I think this thing will work out positively in the end. We'll get something good.

Would you rather slide down a slide of razor blades and land in a pool of rubbing alcohol, or would you rather pull your own eyes out with a corkscrew?

Luckily things aren't so black and white. Firing Dooley doesn't automatically mean we get more Alabama trash. I'll abstain from voting because I refuse to choose which pile of crap stinks the least. The real choice is fire Dooley and get a proven coach

Nice poll options.

Not.

This is like, "What would you rather eat?"
A) Dog Crap
B) Cat Crap
C) Bird Crap
D) Bull Crap

There are other options.

HUGE gap between Jon Gruden and Kirby Smart. There are dozens of experienced coaches not named Gruden out there. Not all would be considered a homerun hire and some won't come for any price (i.e., Chip Kelly, Pete Carroll, etc. etc.), but we won't have to drop down to the coordinator level, IF the AD is willing to make a move.

College football has become a high stakes game, and the SEC is the best table in the house. Either we're a player or we're not, but it's time to decide. And it's time to stop hiring people because of their daddy's name or Saban pedigree. It hasn't worked yet.

I wonder what fans would say if Arkansas and Auburn hired proven coaches this year while TN waited?

Option 4 Fire Dolley and Let Gus Manning coach the team. I'll take anything but Dooley or another member of Saban's tree! I respect Saban and think he is a great coach, but I either want him to be our coach or someone that hates the very breath he takes. Spurrier may have had Fulmer's number more often than not, but at least they were fierce in their competition. Our new coach can be friends with Saban after they retire, until then they need to figure out how to get the King off of the mountain

I get a kick out of people who lin the name Kirby Smart with "low name hire". Derek Dooley was a low name hire. Noone else was courting him with several job offers per year. Kirby Smart is a coach alot of teams have been talking about for a while now. Most every HC started was a OC/DC before getting a HC gig. I think people sell the idea of Kirby Smart as a HC at Tennessee short. I understand the unproven idea about him as a head coach. Everything he has done as a DC says he will be a great HC. Count me as one who would go into 2013 alot happier with KS than DD. In Dooley, you know what you have. A loser and it's not going to change. Smart at least gives this team/players a fighting chance.

Arkansas and Auburn will hire. Who they hire is still unknown. Whoever they get, will be better than Dooley, I'd venture.

I'd take Fulmer back, if he's learned his lesson. I know we have learned our lesson.

!52-52 NC. What lesson does he need to learn?

Not so much learn a lesson IMO, as he would need to show he has re-lit the coaching fire. I do think he would be worth talking to about the job before any hire was made or not made. I would wonder who he would be bringing in to work with him. I do believe a "solid/decent" coach can win big time in the SEC if his OC/DC are top notch. If Fulmer could show he had a good plan going forward, I would take the chance. He would be a very affordable option as well. Not ideal, but alot better than the "let's hope Dooley figures it out" plan. JMO
