Learned his lesson?????????? The man had the highest winning percentage for 6 years and won a national championship. And coached some of the most talented players UT has ever sent to the NFL. Fulmer had no lesson to learn he was a player,coach who devoted his life to the University of Tennessee and poured his heart and soul into this program. And cried the day he left. He had nothing left tot prove NOR did he have ANY lesson to learn.............................

The reason why I premised the question how I did, is because many are saying that because Cheek won't let the AD have the money they need, a huge home run hire is out of the question. Therefore, while there are some experienced coaches that are out there, I figured it is more likely that we would end up getting a "up and comer" or unexperienced head coach.

I figure it would be better to keep Dooley another year, at least until Hart can get the changes needed to get Cheek to let us hire who we need to hire. But I DO NOT want Sal as coordinator. LB coach sure. My opinion, is fire Ansley and move Sal to LB's only and hire Kevin Steele.

I am confused how waiting another year will help get a better coach? Dooley's buyout will still be $5 mil and it will still cost $5 mil to hire a coach.

It's not about money, it's about structural changes that will allow Dave Hart to make the changes he needs to, without upper administration vetoing it.

Basically, this BOT meeting that's coming up is huge for the AD. It seems, if i'm putting it all together right, that if the BOT vote to allow the Athletics department to make its own decisions on the reporting line, that Dave Hart will be able to have the money to make the calls that he wants to make, meaning, being able to spend a lot of money to get Gruden or whoever.

At least, that's what I understand. OCI has been talking about a little, and so has Skeeter. Basically, this weekend will be huge for the AD. OCI is saying though that the vote should be favorable.
