Whatever happened to the Round Mound of Touchdown?

Thank God he's got that chin patch beard so he can catch anything dropped from the buffet before it hits his shirt. Makes him look slim too

Guarantee he has problems seeing his winky. And do they have to hire someone to tie his cleats for him?

There comes a time when you have to just be grateful that football afforded you a free education and a little bit of money and then call it quits. He was there about 50 lbs ago.

Lorenzen had some eye-popping plays at UK. His freshman year at Athens he threw for 527 yards, including a behind-the-back pass to a TE with 4 Georgia defenders hanging off him. He was undoubtedly the stuff of legend.

He also singlehandedly gave away the game against Florida in 2003. Up 21-17 with less than 2 minutes to go, he heaves a desperation pass on 3rd and long that gets picked 6 and we lose.

He DOES have a Super Bowl ring, though.

According to wiki he is also the Gm of the team. He obviously fired the trainer.

I must correct you as I was actually at both of those games.

That UGA game was in Lexington. That pass was definitely worthy of highlight reels, but it didn't affect the game, because KY punted on the next play.

If anybody singlehandedly gave away that UF game, it was whoever was responsible for having 12 men on the field when UF punted in the 3rd Qtr. KY led 21-3 in the 3rd and forced a 3-and-out, and then had 12 men on the punt return team (only KY). UF had been playing dead all day after losing to Miami and Tennessee, and the penalty woke them up.
Obviously, the INT was the winning play for UF, but there were more than 2 mins left. I just checked a box score, and the 1-yd TD run (it wasn't quite a pick 6) that followed the INT was scored with 3:15 left. The INT happened on 3rd down with Lorenzen about to get sacked. I don't think anybody in the stadium expected UF to do anything other than drive for a TD following what would have been a punt.

I was at the Florida game. It was a hellishly hot, humid day.

There was also the Derek Abney punt return for TD that was called back against UF for phantom holding. We watched the replay over and over, and it just didn't happen.

There really wasn't a reason for Lorenzen to throw it away on 3rd down, especially across the field. Just take the damn sack and punt. The defense might not have held, but it was a little less risky.

And yeah, the behind-the-back pass was pretty crazy.

With Lorenzen, you had to take the good with the bad. When he was good, he could do some eye-popping things. When he was bad, he could break your heart.
