after reading all of the reasons that Coach Warlick is not successful, you could just about substitute the name 'Butch Jones' into each comment about her and come up with everything that was said about him over on the football forum

Honestly i dont think Holly is a failure. And i dont think many of our fans do. I think its a few coaching issues that has the fans in an hissy.

1. Why does she constantly let a player like Jamie play out of control without seemingly saying anything?

2. It's game 21 today. Why do our girls not know A solution to stopping guard penetration into the paint?

3. Is she actually teaching them to not make careless passes?

4. And this is a biggy. Why would you go on national tv at halftime and say publicly that you don't have answers to something? Not that she doesn't. But don't make yourself sound like you haven't a clue.

I'm sure there are many issues others could point out. But these are a few of the reasons our fans feel she isn't right for the job.

#1 We are not playing as mean and tough as we were earlier in the year. That meanness was refreshing and it's gone.

#2 It appears that we are forcing it into Russell rather than letting the offensive system naturally produce good looks. It's just drive and cram, drive and cram. The movement and flow is gone. Seems like the offense is now stand and pass around the permieter trying to cram it into Russell. Then at the end of the shot clock try an ill-fated 1 on 2 drive to the basket. I get that Russell is shooting like 75% but when we lose a third of the entry passes to her by forcing things then you have to factor that into the efficiency. If you want to reduce turnovers you have to take the shots that the defense gives you.

On a side note, what the heck is wrong with Jamie Nared's shot? She can't be much above 30% in SEC play.

We haven’t improved during the year and other teams have.

How about what HASN’T changed.... the head coach. Still have a team full of McDonalds All Americans. LSU sure didn’t. No team we play has more talent. They have better coaching and leadership which stems from coaching.

Except Butch didn’t have Alabama-level players in football. Holly has the 2nd best players in women’s basketball behind UCONN. UCONN would never lose these games because they have coaches.

It is a much tougher task than it used to be 20 years ago to consistently get to the F4. More good players, more visibility for other schools.

It's unreasonable because almost no one has done it. And as we discussed, certainly hasn't been done by a WBB coach with 5 years' experience.

After CP3 left, Pat had the #1 class and several high recruiting classes but never got back to the F4. Is that because Pat wasn't a good coach?

Under HW, the first 4 seasons were 3 Elite 8's & a Sweet 16. Significant injuries prevented two F4, IMO.

UCONN has been able to secure the #1 overall player more than any other team in the past decade. He doesn't always get the top overall class, but does get the top player.

No one is asking for lower expectations, per se. But if missing the F4 by one round is enough to fire the coach, then maybe folks have lost touch a bit.

That's not a good enough. If six teams have done something in this sport, then we should have, as well. We are every bit as good, if not better, of a program as those teams. The lowered expectations crap has to stop. "It's really hard" is the mantra of losers.

And, as sad as it was, Pat not making it to the FF later on was a direct reflection of her illness.

Holly has a lot of wins but not against top level teams so in that regard, she has been a failure. The issues you mentioned are a recipe for failure. I really believe that Holly is clueless as to what she can do to get consistency from this team. She has a very difficult time matching wits with top coaches.

Give ME a team of midlevel 3 star players and I personally will outcoach Holly and beat her team. The formula is so easy....even someone who has never coached basketball can do it everytime.

You stuff the middle of the lane and play tough perimeter D. This will lead to a wild 3 point attempt or what Holly will do is try and force the ball inside...and what will happen is either a terrible pass...or the player getting the ball will fumble it away or take a wild, errant shot..and Holly will go back to this over and over and over.

It's sooooo easy to beat Holly. The only reason she wins some of these games is our talent simply being too much to overcome at times and players succeeding DESPITE Holly. But as far as a gameplan when you're down against Holly's Vols? It's so easy to beat them it's laughable. Yes...even a caveman can do it without breaking a sweat.

Literally all you do is make excuses and judge Holly by comparing her to Summits final 4 seasons, which by the way were her worst, and make it seem that they aren’t really that much better than Holly’s first four. You simply gloss over the fact that Holly has never even won the SEC other than one regular season title with Pat’s players. Summit won the SEC tournament 3 of her final 4 years. It is abundantly clear to anyone who has ever watched her teams play that she cannot coach and cannot win with her own players

There are a larger group of Holly supporters than you think. If you were the UConns and top 10 coaches out there, who would you want leading Tennessee. Ask most coaches and they would come to her defense.

I would do a fundraiser to keep her permanently if I were them. It is sad what a once proud program has come to

Let me tell you about the game I was at today - home team down by 17 at half time after obvious disparity in fouls (15 to 5 against them) and cold shooters. Came out in the 2nd half and showed the visitors whose gym they were in. Got to within 2, lost by 4. THEY NEVER GAVE UP! The coach coached them, took up his case with the refs (three blind mice); the team played together and fed off of the crowd and each other. Thanks to Holly's efforts and lack of unity displayed time and again by the Lady Vols, I'm glad I'm getting to see the hearts and efforts of another team. Maybe one day the Lady Vols will return to what they once were, meanwhile still having fun close to home.

Our early success has finally been undone by the Holly factor.

It is very simple, UT will not be a contender for NC with Holly. I hope all will notice how she recruited a top class and the results are sub-par. I hope for the sake of the team, she will do the right thing and step down.

No more proof is necessary, as we have seen from day one. There comes a time when we have to quit blaming the girls, as they have to be coached. Ever coach in the NCAA is better and has their time better prepared come conference play. Andy Landers (not one of my favorites) did say on ESPN that we have to admit that we have a problem. We have to stop letting the opposing team drive to the basket at will, and that is on the coaching staff. You heard Miss State coach tell his girls in the shoot around "DRIVE IT TO THE BASKET", AND THEY DID JUST THAT. If no one on the staff can figure that out then they all need to be replaced. Folks forget about your feelings for Warlick, and think about your feelings for the Lady Volunteers, they deserve better. There are few teams that have more talent than we do. What really is upsetting is for her to be on national TV and state that she has no answer, that is absurd and for that alone she needs to be dismissed. If you support her, then you are telling everyone that you are settling for a average season. We have as much talent as anyone in the country, so folks need to stop blaming the girls.
Philip Fulmer and Holly coached for years at the same time. They may be too good of friends for him to fire her. But he will have to do it to fix the problem.
