FOUR 4* defensive line commits according to Rivals. That's extremely encouraging for what our DL has been the last few years. Yes, the talent coming in in the secondary is nice as well, but let's face it, in year 3 of the CBJ era they've gotta have a stout DL if they have any real shot of going to Atlanta. I really hope these guys pan out and excel. Now if we can get ourselves some form of QB play...

What's really exciting about this class? Errthang!!

Seriously though what really excites me about this class is the overall speed these players will be bringing to the team.

This class could very well be the beginning of something special. Now if Butch and his staff can follow it up with a couple more classes like this we could possibly put ourselves back in the running in the sec.

I know what the numbers and websites say, but looking at this class top to bottom, and thinking about our team needs I think this is the best class in the country.

We needed speed, we got it. we needed nasty linebackers, we got them. We need d-linemen, check. We needed play-makers on offense, boom. We needed running backs, we gotta stable of them. We needed o-linemen, we got it. We needed a kicker, it's good.

That's what excites me. We filled every single need with high-character and high-quality players. The future is bright on Rocky Top.

Above and beyond the quality, depth, balance and speed of this class, this little nugget, which was reported by John Brice of Volquest.com, impresses me more than anything else about the 2014 class: "since the debut of Rivals' team rankings in 2002, no program entering its season of sustenance on the heels of a losing campaign matches the Vols' recruiting haul of 18 total four- and five-star prospects" (VolQuest.com - The never-ending cycle).

Please Vol fans, do yourself a favor, and watch this.

2014 Tennessee Signee Highlight Mixtape - YouTube

Thanks for sharing.
I enjoyed the video mix.
It was nice to see them making their best plays.
But, but, but, they're in the SEC army now.
They're in the SEC army, they're in the SEC army now.
There'll be hits, knocks, and weekly beatings;
By players playing fair and cheating.
They're in the SEC army now.
They gotta be rough, they gotta be tough.
They're in the SEC army now.
There are gators, tigers, bulldogs, and an elephant.
A wildcat and a uniformed punk that traditionally has stunk.
A rooster that look like it's being plucked,
But lately has had a lot of luck.
Our boys are in the SEC army now.
They'll be be chomped, mauled, stomped and pecked.
Cause they're in the SEC army now.
The video was nice though, so really thank you.
But those boys are in the SEC army.

I am most excited about the Defensive Speed coming in. Our D will be among the fastest in the Nation in the coming years.

The second thing I am most excited about is the RB stable we signed. Haven't seen the much talent in a class in many years.

a very good looking class,i am impressed with what they did as far as answering the need for speed and help to solidify some big time holes at other positions

now it will take time to see how well this class is going to do,another couple of great classes are needed, along with the time to develop from a strength and conditioning aspect and the time to get some experience and get some good coaching

CBJ has laid his foundation now,we will now see how well he does with it

True, but Smith, Miller, and Walls went through so many position coach changes, S&C coach changes, as well as 2-3 DC changes, having to learn new schemes and techniques almost on a year to year basis, that it is no wonder none of them ever reached their potential. I think if our defensive staff stays intact, especially if Strip stays their DL coach for their entire careers, these guys will develop into a SEC-quality DL.

Couch and Smith were actually 5-stars. No question those players failed to deliver. Miller showed a lot of flashes this year. Wouldn't be surprised to hear their names on Sundays.

Plus the O-line was loaded with 4 star talent. All that could only muster 5 wins and some horrendous losses. So, there is certainly more to winning than stars. UT is literally rebuilding. This year could be rough with all the attrition. But at least these kids will have two years under the same S&C coach and same scheme.

Tennessee signed the BEST class in the nation. Period. Sorry, but that class bammer signed was NOT the number 1 class, NOT by a long shot. Bammer is awful and will be lucky to make a bowl next season. What the hell makes their class #1? That Evans dude from auburn high school? HE SUX!! Dude is fat and slow as hell! We, on the other hand, are about to surprise some folks. The rankings are misleading. Our class is the real number 1 and everybody knows it. Bammer's class MAY be number 12 or 13. And that is a big MAYBE.

The coaching changes and the coaches sadly let those fellas down in reaching their potential - but also, its easier to miss when you are one of the few. With a class that stacks SO MUCH talent, it is easier to excel because you are pushed by those around you. If all are talented, it is also hard to be a primadonna. If CBJ keeps delivering improvement on the field and stays hard on the recruiting trail, in 3 years this team is going to be a monster.

No. No troll. Just telling it like it is. Bammer is known for doing way less with way more. $aban is famous for luring in a bunch of overrated prima donnas that peak in high school. How many number 1 classes has bummer signed since the cheater arrived in tuscalooser? And how many players in all of those number 1 classes now play somewhere else or don't play at all because they turned out to not even be worthy of a spot on a Sun Belt team? People are in awe of what the cheater signed this year, and I don't see why. Watch how many of those recruits transfer or are never heard of again. And watch how many of our recruits get better over time and contribute significantly. It ain't always about how many stars are by some dude's name, as bammer has showed time and again.

It's okay. Watch what happens this season when bammer flops. Again. If bammer's classes are always so great, why is it that they always get their @ss handed to them by some team (or teams) that they are supposedly "infinitely" more talented than? 2008-Utah. 2010-USCe, LSU, Auburn. 2011-LSU. 2012, Texas A&M. 2013-Auburn, Oklahoma.
