What's the best Pink Floyd album?

P.S.- This guy got the whole story from Gilmour himself. I asked how does one get an interview with a dude like that, and he said he searched to find the contact info for Gilmour's agent, asked if he could speak to David Gilmour for an article he's writing, and Gilmour called him back personally a couple days later and gave him over an hour of is time chatting. Who knew?

Roger Waters was also very key. The Wall was Water's baby. Waters solo band just performed it in ATL not too long ago.

Agreed. I remember reading that he was doing The Wall in its entirity. Should've beed a good show. I think Waters based a good bit of The Wall on himself in the band's early days while on the road touring.

BTW, if you make an international call, the ring tone is exactly the same as they portray it in the movie/song. I always say to myself after the first couple tones "This is United States calling are we reaching? See, he keeps hanging up."

I think he based The Wall on himself and Syd Barrett.

That is what PF did on their US tour in 1980.

And now Waters is doing it without the rest of Floyd. I wonder why? Are the rest of them done with touring?

Waters and the rest of Floyd had a very ugly breakup back in the 80's (lawsuits over intellectual property, the name "Pink Floyd", etc.) He's been touring on his own ever since, AFAIK.

They played one show in 05' with Live Aid and were said to have enjoyed playing it. The remaining members may play a few more shows.

Come on guys... it's hard to argue against Animals. Some of PF's best musicianship and songwriting can be seen here.

Have to disagree

To clarify; I love the hooks on Animals but feel the song length doesn't hold up to the hook.

As comparison, Wish You Were Here has long, drawn out songs that don't feel as repetitive and drawn out to me.

Dark Side and Wish You Were Here are close for me. Animals is behind the Wall for me even though I love the first 2 minutes of Animal songs better than most of these.

Yeah Relics ain't too shabby either, Biding My Time is a kick ass tune. On the subject of Animals, Dogs is a bloody brilliant song all the way through.

I dig the Buckethead BTW

Thank you good sir. I got to hit his kill-switch a couple times, while he was playing, at the Masquerade.
