What's the Deal with Maymon?

Maymon has 0 discipline as a b-ball player. He cannot shoot free throws. In fact his free throw form is one of the worst I have ever seen in my life. A poor free throw form is usually due to not practicing on your shot, or not being taught how to correct your shot, which amazes me at this level. He turns the ball over multiple times in the game on extremely dumb plays and he shoots fade away 18 footers, instead of taking it to the whole like a man and utilizing his big body. I REALLY DON'T LIKE HIS GAME, and he looks like he is the type of player Jerry Green would recruit that has 0 basketball intelligence.

S. Pearl was actually playing really well this year and I think he needs to be reinserted in the lineup for 5-10 minutes a game. He is a very solid defensive player and will contribute more than Maymon this year.

Doubt it! just look at the box score after every game pearl has played in. His stat sheet consists of 0's across the board. Not to mention is free throw shooting is horrific. Really does nothing for this team but hold us back

Steven Pearl is a defensive plug. His bad FT shooting is irrelevant, because he rarely shoots the ball. IMO, he only becomes a liability if he is used while our best scorers are all on the bench. He comes in for Tobias, so we need to at least have Hopson or Tatum still in. And, I like that Fields is starting now. Fields and Pearl are defensive specialists. So, we're better if they're not both on the second string.

Interesting that a thread comparing S. Pearl's skills favorably to someone would cite that other player's bad free throw shooting, lack of discipline, and propensity to commit turnovers.

Pearl is a mediocre defender at best. He does an okay job dancing around in front of anyone without any quickness; his weakside defense is slow, slow, slow. His defensive rebounding is non-existent.

He has improved over last year, but he still has two bone-headed plays every game.

Don't think you'll see another pure shooter (as in, Lofton-type) as long as Bruce is the coach.

Except the fact that essentially they're playing 4 on 5 when he's in the game and we're on offense.

I agree, though, that he makes fewer unforced errors than others, so in that regard he's less of a liability.
