true and i agree with that, but that wasn't my arguement. my argument was that he got the most out of riggs and houston that year as runningbacks coach. the man can coach. moved him to reciever and once again they improved greatly. troop is good.

Everything is fine. Some great recruits came to see us late in the game. WE got really excited over it seeing what this staff can do and will do next year. Just not enough time to make relationships with them, but I'd say we still get one or two pick ups that wouldn't have looked at us before. Coach Kiffin had two months to put a staff together, recruit the players we already had in this class, make connections with current players, and start working on next years recruiting. He has done a great job getting a buzz going about Tennessee football that will carry over next year. Problem with a lot of our fans is they know nothing about football but don't let that stop them from running off at the mouth.

Huh? I'm pretty upset that Garner is at UGA and that we didn't get him. I think a lot of people are on my side on that one too.

My point is that I never heard anyone say "if we could only get Garner back?" before Kiffin was hired. He was a seldom-uttered name. He was off the table and it never got brought up. People were wishing we had Trooper back because he was fresh in their heads and not because he was the best we ever had.

And, Trooper would've probably joined those 3 current UT coaches that you listed... not replaced one of them.

I didn't say he would replace them. I was making a point that we have three guys that have better recruiting resumes than him and I wanted to focus on who was here and not who wasn't hired.

Yeah maybe so about Garner... although I did hear plenty of people talking about how the recruiting hit the fan after he left. I think getting him back simply wasn't a possibility before Kiffin got here.

Got ya on those 3 coaches. Yeah, don't get me wrong, I love our coaching staff. And, I still think Garza and Wilson especially will be great recruiters. The whole staff just needs time. Next year will be the first of many great recruiting classes.
