I'm not in Knoxville but my feeling is one of I'm not sure Fulmer CAN or WILL direct it back. Ask yourself this: it's been obvious for years how predictable, inept, stagnant & underperforming our offense had gotten, yet he did nothing.

I suppose when you go from # 3 in the country to # 63 you have to pretend like you recognize something is wrong.

Now for a hats off to the UT MEN's BB Team...keep it going!

As the ESPN announcer stated yesterday, if basketball has a "spread offense" it appears Coach Pearl has got it. The victory shows what an innovative & demanding coaching philosophy results in.

Exactly. Now you know how to reply to someone. I agree %100. My father and I look forward every year also for the men's bb to do well and Pearl is right on track with those boys. Now for Fulmer. He needs to do alot of praying. Wouldn't it be sad that in 2006 if the Football team did as bad as they did in 2005??? Someone may send a moving van to his home. But that is what I was trying to get at and ask.!!! What was the mood??

I wouldn't judge how the mood is in Knoxville to this site.

The mood from what I have seen and heard is quite high in the city.

On the Internet though....the end of the world is coming

the mood in knoxville is excitement about pearl and the basketball team and mixed about the football team. i'm not optomistic about the football team next year and i think that they will finish around 7-4 next year. it seems like the young kids down on campus see it my way and think we will stink it up next year offering to sell there tickets when they get them. the older group seem to think the hiring of cutcliffe will be enough to turn us around and put us into contention for a sec title next year. the people i tailgate with are just as mixed around half thinking we will stink and half thinking fulmer and cut will turn it around. i think one thing everybody i talk to agrees about is if fulmer loses to cal in that first game he won't be around by seasons end. thats how alot of fans feel he better win now or get packing. personally i think he could lose the game to cal and win the sec and i would be happy, but i don't think that will happen. regardless i think if he starts out losing 2 out of his first four there will be a mutiny in knoxville.

Then you've seen and heard it from behind your crack pipe.

Vol football fans are pissed off big time and with the recent articles by the NFL folks and another round of Phil's delusional "we were almost 9-2" vomit, they are fit to be tied...or tie him up. Phil ought to hide out and shut up for awhile unless he is so depressed as to be suicidal. Sure sounds like he's trying awfully hard to do himself in.

As usual, the Phil Trolls roll out lies like "end of the world", not one post has claimed anything of the sort. Truth is, even among those that woud like to see Fulmer canned, and I am one of them, I expect that we will see very good football but not necessarily in the near future. The only question is can Phil deliver it?

Time will tell. He built this crumbling ship, I'll give him one more year to right it or, as far as I am concerned, he can go down with it and take his perverted view of reality with him. :focus:

We WERE almost 9-2. Unless you're too deluded to remember that 4 of our losses were because of less than 3-4 yards each.

I've been hearing alot of uneducated talk "we'll be horrible because we're not getting the recruits..blah blah" well..we didn't know how good or bad our class was last year really until the Army Bowl. I think it will be ok, BUT BUT BUT this years recruits aren't going to translate into wins next year, it will be LAST years, which was at the very top in the nation.

I've also been hearing solid arguments for a successful season.

With Coach Cut back, Ainge should be able to get right in the head. We've got an experienced secondary coming back, there are players on D to step up and play. Foster should be back at 100%, as well as Hardesty and keep in mind, before he got hurt, hardesty was better! We've got receivers coming back, and hopefully the new wr coach can find a few that are exceptional and give them the majority of the playing time in the same positions. The OL didn't lose too much , and I'm sure that there are people to step up, it's just that they weren't good enough to take over for last years seniors.

I think we'll be just OK next year. 9-10 wins would not be out of the question at all...and you never know, 2 years ago we were supposed to tank, and ended up winning the SEC East. WHO KNOWS!

I'm optimistic, as are many of the other non doomsdayers in knoxville that wouldn't be happy with a thousand bucks, cuz they'd want 2000.

you make some valid points jwells, but i tend to lean the other way. i think the other teams are catching us in the sec talent wise and the coaches are supieror to fulmer. fulmer made a good move hiring cut and that could make a bigger difference than i think, but i'm not sure ainge is the right QB for us he just makes to many mistakes. also the offensive line was terrible last year. those 2 things have to be fixed for us to have a better season next year. the defense will be good, but i don't think they will be as good as this years group. 7-4 sounds right, but you could be right 9 wins is not out of the question. i still think alot hinges on the cal game if we come in and look good we might be better than i think. if we come in and look the way we did this year and get booed off the field fulmer is done for. i think if that happens the players, fans and alumnist will be looking for a change at the end to the season.

Have a lot of experience from that?

Apparently the baby has not had a chance to read one of the 1,000 "Phil is in trouble!" threads.

Attitude in Knoxville is far from annoying, cry-babyish, ranting as many on here moan about

life would be much easier if u would just admit that u are an alabama fan.

Just mad I point out your stupidity whenever possible? :dance2:

I honestly think if I remember one thing about this season it will be people like you starting threads with
"Fulmer sucks!" followed with...."I dont know why people are upset with me" posts.

Pick a side, John Kerry.

I can tell you never went to college from your posts

You and little charley can form a little tree-club together so next year when we win the SEC East and possibly the SEC....you can plot which new coach you want fired and how badly our program is and whatever else gives you all a buzz on mocking the school.

u know for someone who is a mod on this site u would think u would have a little bit of class. All u do is ridicule posters and act as if u know it all. Anyways i hope we do win the east next year. Just because i dont like fulmer doesnt mean i am mocking the school. Coaches come and go all the time, what are u going to do when he finally quits or even worse gets fired.

Mod? When have I ever been a mod?

I do in fact love to ridicule those who want to bring down our program and bash away like a crying girl who has had their candy taken away.

This site has plenty of posters who want Fulmer gone that post great threads with facts to back up what they have to say. I love those posts. I believe AllVol (excuse me if you aren't one of them, All) who has said time and again UT is in trouble and whatnot but he has facts behind what he says....actual good posts with an actual meaning behind them.

Then there are the "Fulmer sucks....WAH WAH WAH" threads that do nothing other then bash at anyone and everyone. If your going to post something has stupid as some of little charlie's threads...expect a rude response.

What is a tree club? I find you post to be vexatious, loquacious, and outrageous. Please say what you mean and mean what you say. Aside from that have a very good day.
