Who knows where Shelby is going? I don't really care anymore. I'm tired of hearing about him. I don't think you maintain a quality program with one and done kids.

You might be right, but with our situation... we have 2 PGs committed for the following year. One and done Josh Selby wouldn't be bad for us. Tennessee coaches (don't know which ones) supposedly showed up at a game of his recently. They really have nothing to lose going after this kid. There really isn't anyone else on our radar - especially a point guard

You are probably right. However, I'm afraid he might scare off our two PG commitments for the next recruiting class. He may not be good enough to leave after one year. I understand he may also have an attitude problem.

I don't think Selby is still considering UT...

When the smoke clears, I think you see Knight and Leslie at UK. Doron Lamb and Terrence Jones are both possibilities, but at the moment I don't think UK is in the lead for their services. Although everyone here has been nervous, due to the show development of the class.

UK also is in "hot pursuit" (according to multiple recruiting gurus) of the recently decommitted (From Washington) Enes Kanter, the 6-10 center from Turkey. He was 4/5 star center, who was offered professional contracts in Europe, and is projected at #22 in the 2011 NBA draft.

In the end, I think we still end up with a top 10 class. But in many peoples eyes, this class is a "filler" class until we reach the 2011 class, which is where we are supposed to break the bank again.

If anyone is dumb enough to believe Calipari will go to the Nets, then I need to talk to them about some ocean front property I have here in Kentucky.

The Nets simply stated who their top candidates are.

I could state that my top choices for my new wife were Jessica Biel and Megan Fox, but it doesn't mean they will accept the interview.

If LeBron signs with the Nets, John would be out of Lexington in the time it would take to pack a suit for the press conference.

Yes, it is too hard to imagine that a coach would be one and done at a school so he could go after something he thought would be bigger. Wait...

Yeah, it happens often. I just do not honestly think that Cal would leave UK for Nets because they are "bigger". The Nets have already burned one bridge with him, and they are terrible. I think Calipari is prideful, and going back to them really isn't something he would consider. Especially in their current state.

UNLESS......

Which makes for a good point. Cal drools over LeBron, and could follow him anywhere. However, I'm still not sold on the fact that he would leave, but it definitely increases the chances.

There were some on this board who laughed at me when I called Calipari to UK, calling it ridiculous and said it would never happen. I just have that hunch once again, that its not going to happen.

I'll add a possibility. IF the NCAA comes after UK hard and finds something, Cal will bolt and get away again.

The Nets are terrible now. They have a new billionaire owner, getting a new arena, will have the #1 pick (hello John Wall) and have a lot of cap space to grab who knows (even if Lebron doesn't work out). Pretty sure Cal would jump all over this opportunity if offered.

That's like people on here saying that there is no way Kiffin would leave.

This has crossed my mind as well. Though I'm not sure he would make it out of Kentucky alive if this happened. He would have to fly to New Jersey, and then make the announcement. lol

As for the rest of you, all we can do is just wait and see. Having just been burned by the same situation, I can see how most of you jump on that side of the fence, which is fine by me.

Its amazing what kind of a fund raiser Cal is, and more amazing how Philanthropic he is. He dishes out his generosity everywhere he goes!

If Hopson makes it to his senior year at Tennessee, UT v. UK will be super interesting that year. Tennessee's roster (essentially):

PG - Golden (So), Jones (Fr)
SG - Hopson (Sr), Ware (Fr), McBee (Jr)
SF - Tatum (Sr), McRae (So)
PF - Harris (So), Maymon (Jr?), Woolridge (Sr)
C - Hall (Jr), Hopefully 2010 prospect with a year of seasoning (Abraham or other)

See how hard you're laughing when they sign Selby or Brandon Knight.

Hate-
as I recall, u hated Selby when he was committed to UT... said we should never have taken his commitment. You can't now say that he'd make UK's class a winner!

he raked Pearl over the coals for taking the kid and said the kid was basically good for nothing. Now that coach Cal is after him he's changing his tune.

I still wouldn't want Selby on my team. My point was that the original poster acted as if Kentucky had completely struck out in recruiting.

This whole thing hinges upon when the decision is made though, if you think about it. Everyone here says that for Calipari to leave it would take a package deal with LeBron and the first pick. Well, the NBA finals aren't until June and the draft after that, and I wonder if the Nets are going to wait that long to make a decision. I would think that they want someone in the front office pretty soon. However, if they keep on holding off until then, one might presume that this idea has some merit.
