Personally I would rather run a power drill through my ear canal as to listen to some of those guys. Eric Cain has a YouTube program but hell I can only listen to that from time to time.

That wouldn’t be a natural transition at all. Plumbers are responsible for getting sh1t out of your house, while sports commentators do the opposite.

Dave and Caleb have an entertaining show. It is really difficult to have the daily 2 hour plus schedule during the slower football season like now. You can tell when they have manufactured some banter that is pointless and are beating it to death. Other times they have interesting guests and dialog that is worth a listen. Caleb in particular gets on a wild streak like predicting Nico would be a Heisman finalist and saying that he "was created in a lab" to run Heupel's offense. At times they are too harsh which can be true for most of the podcasters and amateur analysts.

The business model for all this is somewhat puzzling to me about revenue through ads, paid "memberships" etc. but they seem to be making it work.

During the 2023 season he would have Fred White on for a segment each Sunday that was actually really good, solely because of how good Fred’s commentary was. The rest of what he puts out there is almost always clickbait, unless you enjoy listening to hearsay about the team that usually turns out to be false.

Stopped listening to him after he copies other content and takes shots at others. He is terrible.Would classify him as a hack.

Found another guy, Frank Rock, at a podcast called House of Orange. Can someone get him a new Tennessee shirt. Lol—he looks like he slept in his clothes. Apparently, he does a lot of videos covering the baseball team. Don’t see much coverage in the other sites, although maybe that will change in a couple months.

Agreed--stay away from Doug Hooker, he's a UT energy vampire that always seems to try & look for the negatives, in a desperate attempt to "scoop" other commentators to make himself seem relevant.
Trust me, as a Chattanooga-area resident for decades, I used to hear him on the radio locally all the time, and got sick of him, so I quit listening to the radio station he was on.

"Talkin Vawls" is just a clickbait youtube channel that puts out many short videos, usually just talking about every rumor that is around, or rides the coat tails of other reporters. Hardly ever does he say anything original or verified, unless it's just rehashing someone else's podcast.

I get more verifiable info from this message forum than anywhere else.

But that's just my opinion, which is worth the cost, exactly $0.00.

I only discovered him because Marlin McKinney's the List went there. I go there to read that not the sites articles or podcasts. Marlin's lists articles from other sites so you have a lot in one spot. He has to include the Hooker articles though.

Dave Hooker has some excellent guests - Ollie Lane, Cooper Mays, Jason Warren, Ron Slay, Fred White, Jimmy Hyams etc. so you can skip through the show on YouTube and hear the guests. Cooper Mays this week talked about getting ready for NFL combine. Some shows are better than others but the podcast guys are genuinely trying to discuss relevant SEC topics.

I have seen some very young guys try to do "sports analyst" podcasts that can be entertaining to see them try to emulate Brent, Austin and the Volquest channel. They may have 25 views of their podcast that day so give them a Like for their effort.
