Ok i know this is off topic, but with the titans actually winning games does this hurt our chance at drafting a top qb this year? And if VY continues to impress do we we still even draft a qb?

Last night, my last reason for why VY shouldn't start in the long run was refuted. If he can drive 99 yards with 2 minutes left and throw the game-winning touchdown with no time on the clock, then I think it's safe to say he's jumped the hurdle.

Now, we need to see how he'll react to a loss (which we'll most likely see next week) before we can decide whether or not to draft someone, but the fact remains that he is a young, talented, dual threat QB that can actually pass and read defenses. I say stick with him. Dude's a winner!

give him time. this won't last. yes, he's doing damn good, but he's still VY.

Honestly he's more in the middle right now....like best comparison is he stands at the area McNair was in 97/98/99 of "he should be playing FB and Neil O'Donell should be starting"

Even if this type of play somehow keeps up justin?

(ps, he's a top 3 pick, so i'm pretty sure the deal he has is already a long term one)

But next year is the last year on original contract right?

no his original deal still runs through I believe (I'll check), the big issue is that next year he'd be owed about $14 mil total that season...bad cap number

Edit: 5 year deal with option for a 6th it appears

He's playing well. I perosnally don't think it's going to last long term; I think by the end of next season the Titans will be back in close to the same boat.

But he's definitely going to be the starter next year, so any talk of drafting a QB is dead now.

nfl network said last night he counts 7mill against the cap next year?....

At this point, there is no way Bud Adams will ever replace him. They might draft depth, but they won't draft a new QB of the future.

He just wins games. It's never going to be as pretty as we'd all like, but wins and losses is all that counts in the NFL.

I was one of those who didn't put a lot of faith in VY's abilities to lead the team to victory in a tough situation. The game yesterday has forced me to rethink my position, he silenced his doubters to a large extent who said he was never going to grow into the type of qb that would perform and lead under pressure. I have seen a huge amount of growth in the past year in just about all phases of his game and I see no reason why he wouldn't continue to grow.

Bottom line is Vince has proven me and many others wrong so far and deserves the benefit of the doubt at this point. His performance so far this year and last night in particular warrant it. Is VY ever going to be a gun slinger? No. Can he be the kind of qb who can keep you in games and give you a shot at winning in the end? Yes, it looks like he can.

I've just been glad to see how much improvement has been made. He seems far more accurate.

Give Heimerdinger much credit.

Give Heimerdinger much credit.

He is letting Vince be Vince. I think too much of the focus had been on trying to alter VY's game and Vince never felt comfortable. It looks like Vince has put in the study needed and they have a certain comfort level in letting him make the decisions. His decision making abilities have been so much better than in years past, sure he still makes a bad decision here and there but that is part of the process with a young qb, especially a qb who relied on his legs so heavily in college.

I agree Heimer deserves credit here, he obviously worked with Vince and and is making good choices on play calling and keeping the reins on his qb loose enough while keeping Vince working within the system.

Edit: I also give credit to Britt for putting the fumble behind him coming up with a clutch catch when their backs were against the wall.

Yeah Heimerdinger deserves a lot of credit. He's not making Vince sit back there and read cover 2 or cover 3. Arizona tried to make him stay in the pocket. To Vince's credit, he beat them at their game.

Mike Kieth said this morning that Dinger thinks the biggest change is getting VY to keep looking for a receiver once he starts to run.... That game winner to Britt... old VY woulda kept runnin'..
