Wheels coming off at SC

What matters is who they replace the coaches with. Coaches come to Bama because they are the best at what they do and they know it will help them get promoted. If USCjr hires coaches like Butch did in Larry Scott and Mike Canales, then it's a good sign it's a sinking ship.
Yeah, if those guys are in the building, I'd say it's the kiss of death for Muschamp time at SC. It's all in the optics of who the replacements are, and SC admin support. For as flawed as Butch was, Curry hamstrung Butch on budget for his hires, as UT was not in great financial position at the time, and lack of UTAD buy in on new hires.

Bad enough that we have to endure Dawg and Gator trash on here but now we have USC Jr posters. Just don't get it, I never go to other schools sites..

Cute. I'm a UT grad, varsity athlete, former season ticket holder. I'm also wise enough to call out sunshine pumpers on this site. Get over yourself.

All these moves in last 48 hrs. Coaches know this is Muscamps last year.

Defensive Line coach John Scott Jr. going to Penn St.

Running Backs coach Thomas Brown going to the Rams.

O-Cord and Wide Receivers Coach Bryan McClendon leaving for Steelers

Director of Player Personnel Matt Lindsay moving on to Ole Miss.
It looks to me like Muschamp had pretty good coaches for them to get hired away to the NFL and better schools. I hope he hires lousy replacements. We used to get some good players out of South Carolina.

Rocker is now the DL coach at SC, wonder who we are getting?

Pffft, OP. Wishful thinking. This amount of turnover means absolutely nothing.

Turnover rates are very high for Assistant Coaching positions.

Take Alabama, for instance. From an article written last January:

"But over the past handful of seasons — since the start of the College Football Playoff era, more or less — Saban’s staff turnover has reached near-annual levels. Consider the following rate of turnover:"

Offensive Coordinator — 4 in the past 4 seasons
Quarterbacks Coach — 4 in the past 4 seasons
Wide Receivers Coach — 4 in the past 4 seasons
Running Backs Coach — 3 in the past 3 seasons
Offensive Line Coach — 3 in the past 5 seasons
Tight Ends Coach — 3 in the past 4 seasons

and...

"Alabama on Friday announced its 2019 staff featuring seven new coaches for 10 spots."

Sorry to rain on your parade, dude, but Muschamp's coaching turnover (3 coaches) really means Jack Squat.

Well we finally figured out the one thing Muschamp took from Saban’s tutelage.

Muschamp will enter the portal.

What portal you ask? The Jimmy Sexton portal for fired coaches rehab. First stop, Tuscaloosa. Get the stock up so they can be traded on the open market.

But Muschamp has already gone through the Nick Saban school of football

Assistants leave Saban and Bama for a promotion / bigger job. Assistants leave Muschamp because he's a jackass. Big difference.

So since Rocker is leaving for USC does this mean the wheels are now falling off here?
No, it means they didn't renew his contract, so he was working on borrowed time and he knew it. CJP could have kept him if he had wanted to simply by giving him another two years guaranteed. Tough call--good on-field coach, but not much of a recruiter.

But what about Hughes... and Rumph?

I'm being facetious. The wheels aren't coming off at Tennessee and they aren't coming off at South Carolina either. It's just the nature of the business.

It was a sarcastic response to an overreaction by the OP, coaches come and go all the time
