When Pat decides to retire.

Peck has been out of coaching since 2008. She was fired mid- year as Fla went 9-22 with a 14 game losing streak.

Terrible coach after leaving Purdue.
Nobody wants her.

I apologize for not doing my homework. I remember her from Purdue and as a commentator. Did not remember her as Coach at Florida. Scratch her.

I just see it at one of those deals where the national perception could turn negative when top coach after top coach turns the job down for the obvious reason of not wanting to follow a legend, and especially after the way she was forced to leave the game.

Following John Wooden, UCLA ended up hiring Gene Bartow after one season at Illinois (a losing season at that). I'd hate to think we would be forced to settle for some unknown up-and-comer, or worse because no one wants to be the person to follow Summitt. I would rather stick it out with Warlick, at least for a couple seasons as a buffer, than be turned down by every coach worthy of the opportunity, and the potential negative implications that come attached with such rejection.

yes. she is not a good coach. we have to get a up and coming or a big name coach to keep recruiting great classes.

Is that likely or even possible though, all things considered? I'd love to bring the best in the business in, but I fear the damage that several public rejections could cause. Warlick is the safe bet as a 1-3 year buffer IMO. I'm not saying she's the best candidate longterm by any means.
