Where Does UT Fall to in Polls

We should not drop...We won the game, we struggled but every team does every now and then...Last year USC didn't drop when they struggled to a 31-28 win over the worst team in the PAC 10(Stanford).

Everybody knows a ND win is actually 2 wins in the pollsters eyes.

The ranking doesn't matter. The next two games will take care of our ranking.

I think Michigan will move up in front of us. UGA might move up in the polls after killing that talented Boise State team.. :rolleyes:

I think the Vols might drop to 8 or 9 and possibly out of the top ten, but like GaVol said, the UF and LSU game will speak for itself.

I look for UGA to in the top 10 after that performance yesterday.

BSU's QB can take credit for UGA's performance. We shouldn't drop except below the Wolves maybe. I think that the way College Fball is now w/ limited # of Scholarships, nobody should be pissed over any win.

I'd say we stay at 3, possibly slip to 4, and an outside chance we slip to 5 with maybe Michigan and maybe Ohio State jumping us. But quite honestly, it doesn't matter all that much. Texas v Ohio State play this weekend so one will drop. Oklahoma lost so we'll certainly stay above them.

Notre Dame will pop up around 17 +/- 3 spots IMO.

It's not like a team like LA Lafeyette(sp?) or something came in and played us tight....I'll be honest, I expected a blow out and didn't get what I thought I would....UAB played well enough to keep that game tight...You guys say we're overrated but maybe Phil didn't want to show ALL of his cards yesterday? That may or may not have been the case....CUM sure didn't in Florida....UGA looked good from what I heard last night, I didn't get to see that game because I was at our local dirt track but I did get to see the 2nd half of the Auburn game....And you guys say we're over rated? NO! Auburn is VERY over rated.....They played like pure crap last night....They deserved to lose that game

But we won't drop...We'll stay the same and next week we'll have to pull for Ohio State to take out Texas for us and we'll hopefully get bumped to #2...Dunno how that will work out though....I don't think we will drop but who knows?

i say look for us to drop 1 or 2. not enough teams played any killed their opponents and we wont see teams jumping 10 spots after 1 game. osu and maybe michigan will jump us. niu stayed with michigan and they are nowhere near as good as uab. osu beat miami(oh) pretty well. we could see a miami or even va tech jump if they kill fsu or ncsu but i dont see that happening. we'll be back at 3 after next week imo anyways.

when will it be released?

ut will not fall that much. maybe a couple of spots. they won and that is what should matter.

but if ohio st. beats texas then they will go above us b/c of our off week. and that isnt right.

Yall are crazy if you think we are really going to drop to 9 or 10. For one we won the game, two UAB was a good team, three when has a team ever dropped from 3 to 10 cause they won a close game? yall are overreacting way to much

The media loves to over hype us and then drop us like a rock in the polls...History has proven that and honestly we should drop, we didn't come close to the spread. That being said...the next 3 weeks will determine whether or not we are a contender...the rest is just media twists....

lol that is classic idiocy. the spread is set by las vegas gamblers looking to make money. they dont know s*** about football or gameplanning. if u base ur football knowledge on "the spread" then u should just give up now.

If we do fall we cant fall more than 2 postions or I will flip. No way we beat a good uab team and then drop 5 postions. dont feed me that crap.

Have you not paid attention to UT and the polls in the past. UT will drop somewhere...count on it.

While the spread is often as you say, the media does put faith in the oddsmakers....time after time.

This thread was about the polls....which the last time I checked was purely a media type function.

Which is not what I base my knowledge about, but then again this thread wasn't about football knowledge....it was about the polls....since when has football knowledge and polls went together....BCS????

Vols may drop a spot or so....but can easily be made up with two big road wins. UGA may jump UF though with their performance...and as far as ND goes..if they beat Meechigan next weekend that'll be the quickest anyone has jumped in the top 10 in a while!

We will drop. I don't know how much, but every article I have read has such a negative slant to it ( "Vols Hold On To Beat UAB - Barely" or "#3 Team in the Nation Struggles For A Win") that it indicates that the media expected a blowout too. Hypocrites. They talk all week about how UT better not overlook UAB and then criticize US because it turns out they were right.

Go figure.
