Where Has The Home Court Advantage Went This Season?

Get real man. Come back Wednesday night. I bet you won't be singing the same tune when LSU holds us to under 65. Don't confuse bad shooting and a slow pace with great defense. Stats don't tell the whole story.

They tell most of the story . You honestly dont think the slow pace was Pearls choice . Cal knew what it was going to take to win this game " half court defense " and trying to force the VOLS to use their ( Very poor ) halfcourt offense.

Argue all you want , but i'm just agreeing to disagree

Good night man:snoring:

Bassman I just think the TIGERS played pretty good defense today . The scheme was good and the VOLS just couldn't get it going . As of tonight they have the 6the best defense in the country. ( not too shabby )
The TIGERS aren't that good on offense either , but imo the TIGERS defese was pretty solid which created problems for the VOLS.

How in the world do you contribute Bobby Maze and JP Prince taking contested outside jumpers, acting like they're Kobe, to great defense?

How in the world do you consider it great defense when JP Prince or Cameron Tatum force the ball into a double team and yet continue to dribble instead of passing it out to the open man? How are unforced, mental turnovers great attributed to the Tigers defense?

Like I said - because of our guard deficiencies (not because of defense - guard play has been inconsistent all year) Memphis was able to double and triple team Tyler every time he got into the lane.

Any team with the crappiest defense can do that - and many have. If you think that's great defense to get a block on a guy when you have three people on him - then keep believing that - Tennessee is not a good half court team, plain and simple.

You obviously haven't watched games any of our games this year. Breaking news - our press isn't very effective this year. Bruce hasn't forced the up-tempo style this year as much as he has in the previous years.

Just look at the Vandy game. We were very content with feeding the post every time.

And no - common sense tells most of the story... Ex. about 13 of your games were against pathetic teams. Stats are inflated. Just like Kentucky, Kansas, Gonzaga, and Temple you'll come to the realization you beat a very average team with no half court game and may have given you false hopes.

I agree...we are an awful shooting team...we score most of the points in the paint and off of put backs. I think we have alot of young raw talent and it shows with their shooting.

If you slow it down as Memphis did and used the clock - even if UT shoots 40% or 45% it would still look like Memphis played great defense due to the score and overall lack of offensive possessions.

are you really trying to argue that MEmphis doesn't have a great defense?

Because they do.

Because they do.

Their defense and defensive scheme won the game for them . It forced contested shots and turnovers. I also think CBP coached a bad game , he should of been able to take advantage of Tyreke being on the bench ( he didn't ) and he should have forced Chism to stay in the post .We really had no answer for Chism and even BW when they established position down low.

The home court advantage left with the players that had heart. IE Smith, Lofton, Bradshaw etc. They defended the home court. Tyler tries and Wayne does for portions of the game. Also, the crowd hasn't realized how to be a good basketball crowd. They are only loud if we are within a bucket or winning. Memphis fans had better defense chants than Tenn fans did Saturday.
