Where is this "expert recruiter"?

Here’s what Matt Leinart had to say about Sarkisian, via e-mail through the Arizona Cardinals’ media-relations department:

“I tell everyone the guy was born to be a coach. The X’s and O’s were always there, obviously, but just the type of guy he was and is helped me be a better player, and we just clicked from Day One. He was a young guy, 28-29 years old, when I was a young freshman and Norm Chow was the coordinator there and he was learning under him.

“There is no surprise that he is having the success that he is having, and I know he will have a lot of success one day as a head coach somewhere. I believe Sark was one of the best coaches I played for — and I played for a lot of great ones — but as an individual coach, he was as good as it gets.”

no mention of lane, sounds like we hired the wrong co-oc

I agree. I think Washington made the better hire.

Then again, Al wanted Sark at Oak before he wanted LK...but don't tell these guys that. They can't handle the thought of LK coming in second place.

are you freaking kidding me? He was clearly asked a specific question about Sarkisian.

Sounds like Sarkisian treated him like a friend. HCs doing that tend to have short careers. Guys like Kiffin tend not to be buddies with their players.

Hold up, didn't we all agree that Al is an idiot? If not, and he hired Kiffin to run his enormously valuable company, then his decision is probably a decent indicator that Kiffin is a quality football coach.

but leinart can't even start for arizona...

Herbert had the chance to come in and showcase his "talent" day one with our shortage of DT's. Obviously he feels more comfortable "learning" for a few more years riding the pine. The entire UF defense returns next year leaving this guy on the outside looking in. There is safety within a herd and excellence or failure outside of the herd...He chose the herd.
