Where were you when...?

Where were you when Saban was confirmed as new coach at Alabama ? - TideFans.com

I usually don't paste things said on other boards, but I nearly fell out of my chair when I read this thread title. It's like putting this on par with "Where were you on 9/11 or when JFK was shot" The man hasn't coached a game and it's already an earth-shattering experience for them.

I myself was still trying to get that ringing sound in my ear out. You know the one...''I aint coaching at Alabama how many times do I hafta say it?...similar to.... I never had sex with that woman!...and the checks in the mail. The bammers yell all ya want but if he did it to the Miami Dolphins as well as badmouth LSU he'll do it to them. Sooner or later it's comin, just when it's in his best intrest personally to screw bama...they'll all be Ned Beatty's.

Those posts all had very good spellers writing them. Are you sure that is from a 'Bama board and do you think all of those posts were written by the same guy? :eek:lol:

All businesses in Tuscaloosa closed at 10 a.m. the day Coach Saban announced his hiring. Me and some friends went straight to Buffalo Phil's Wings to drink and watch the press conference. One of the wildest lunches I have ever had. I will never forget that day.

and that's why you're a bammer. this isn't a life changing experience...it's a new head coach on a football team in which YOU don't play. you're just a fan. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??????

You going to go to Hooters when he leaves for the Cowboys job in 2008?

Consider this. I know exactly where I was when I heard that John Belushi had died, yet I remember nothing of this Saban business...

It is a life changing experience. Crimson Tide college football is a big part of my life. Just as Big Orange athletics are a big part of your life or you wouldn't be on here. Did Tennessee's '98 National Championship change your life for the better? I would say it did.

Slick Rick says, Saban better win big in a hurry. The expectations at Alabama are apparently a National Championship every year. Businesses actually closed to announce the hiring of a coach?

If Saban actually ever wins a national championship at bama, then that is a valid comparison, but most likely he'll be gone before he ever gets close.

But's that's a national championship, not the hiring of a coach. One's an accomplishment, something to be proud of, the other isn't.

It's funny how bama fans act like they already won the NC just cuz they hired Saban. All they won was a few more years of bloated expectations and then disappointment when he leaves them for another job.

He's only one man. I don't care how good he is, he can put his team in contention but to EXPECT a NC is just insane. The players and luck will decide if he wins a NC.

Keep telling yourself that.
