LSU is probably out of NY6 bowl unless they beat UGA. Citrus bowl for them.
LSU can only get to the NY6 is if they beat GA and get the Sugar Bowl Bid. Too Many others with Better Records. It may come down to what drives College Football though and it is dollars.

Seems like a lot of things would need to happen for UT to get the sugar bowl as it stands now.

CFN's logic for Vols v Texas in the Sugar is that, by current rankings, the Sugar should be Bama v Texas

But that game already happened

So the committee will want to get Vols ahead of Bama for the Sugar and a battle of the UTs in New Orleans

I don’t care, you do know that most of the best players going pro don’t play in bowl games anymore. It’s becoming a watered down bowl season. Also with the portal, many more players will bail. In less you are in the playoffs bowl games don’t matter anymore. Get used to it

Hoping the expanded playoffs will help that.

But you doubt that's what happens. So do I. I don't want to play either team, but I think I'd rather K state than Clemson.
I wouldn’t mind Clemson. Their QB is not a good passer. Haven’t seen K State so I don’t know what they have.

If it takes Alabama getting into the playoffs for us to get the Sugar, then I would prefer we are in the Orange. By all rights, Alabama lost both its games on one play. I could see them getting that 4 seed if things fall right.

No CFN projections has Tennessee vs Texas in the Sugar Bowl and Alabama vs Clemson in the Orange Bowl and Tulane vs Penn State in the Cotton Bowl.

Furthermore, how does Texas jump Penn State, Kansas State, Washington, Notre Dame, or Ohio State if they do not make it.

I think Clemson is a better match-up for TN than K State. The latter has a high-powered offense and would be especially tough to match missing Hooker.

I base my opinion on who I think is going to opt out and not having Hooker. I could be wrong because I haven't done my homework, but Clemson has been recruiting well for a while and if they have a bunch of starters opt out they can plug in a better group than we can. I had the same thought process with K State only backwards. Like us. Lol.

Doesn't matter, we'll play whoever we get scheduled to play and I'll watch and hope we win. We need wins more than "good losses".

Sugar Bowl is contractually obligated to take either 1. The SEC Champion, or the highest ranked SEC team remaining not in the CFP. The Big 12 uses different contract criteria. They take the Big12 Champion, unless in the playoff, and then they go to a tie-break system. They do not use the CFP rankings for selection to the Sugar Bowl. They're assuming TCU wins the B12 title, and that would push KState to 8-3 in the league (tied with Texas) and Texas owns the head-to-head tiebreaker. K state could finish as the higher-ranked team, while Texas earns the bid.
