Jimbo isn't coming...Book it..He and his family are loved in their community.....I will almost guarantee he isn't coming to Tennessee...Not sure why his name keeps coming up...not only that I will promise you that Al Golden will not be the coach at Tennessee so step away from the edge of the cliff...Realistic candidates IMO are Butch Davis, Patterson if he will even listen to an offer, Petersen is a pipe dream but I would love to have him here and Gus Malzahn would be a good one if he can keep his wifes mouth shut...lol

Peeps need to remember that Meyer, Miles, Petrino, and Richt had never coached in the SEC prior to their success in this conference.

I remember the same comments about Sullivan. Everyone claimed he wouldn't cut it in the sec Strong.can coach and recruit. He would be a.great hire

Strong would be a dangerous hire imo...He has proven nothing...Beaten a bunch of 1-2 win teams and squeaked by in the big East..As far as recruiting goes he isn't all you think he is, His recruiting class is ranked #72...Behind teams like UAB, Tulane and mighty Kentucky...Yes KENTUCKY...Sorry but I would not touch him with a 10 foot pole...Let him prove something and then maybe he'll get a better job but as of now sorry I am not impressed.

He's taking UL to a BCS game....that's where the love comes from.

All I hear is how great of a recruiter Charlie Strong is, ok lets see ...

2011 class rated #29 rivals
2012 class rated #42 rivals
2013 class rated #73 rivals

ummmm ... Dooley did better than that & no I was ready for Dooley to go.

I also hear all this crap well he is taking them to a bowl game, ok lets see their schedule ...

Win Kentucky (2-10)
Win Missouri St (3-8)
Win North Carolina (8-4)
Win Florida Int (3-9)
Win Southern Miss (0-12)
Win Pittsburgh (5-6)
Win South Florida (3-8)
Win Cincinnati (8-3)
Win Temple (4-7)
Lost Syracuse (7-5)
Lost Connecticut (5-6)

Win Rutgers (9-3)

their opponents are a combined 57-81. It would be hard to celebrate that winning schedule, but I guess after this year some of you would be happy with that.

A dead cat can recruit to FSU given its location, coeds and sustained record of success in recent decades. Kids commit to FSU for the program, not for Jimbo.

Well in his last few years Bowden didnt do that great. He didnt leave the program in great shape for fisher.. I wont argue that it is easier to recruit at FSU then at some schools though,

Your one of the few people I know of calling for Butch Davis. I don't know why. He is a heck of a recruiter and has won at big time schools. I don't know if he would be a good fit but I don't see why not.

KIRBY SMART

Has a lot of experience for such a young man. Has coached with the best coaches in the SEC.

Betcha he would like a head coaching job in the SEC at a great University.

I think he is a diamond in the rough just waiting to be polished by a few million Tennessee fans.

Larry Fedora.
Up and coming with fire and passion.

Thank you! Please not Strong or Jones.

I personally want Petrino

because the guy knows football and i think he is no longer interested in the nfl and i think his next stop he's looking to be there for a while

June Jones!! Cause he is a winner. He has won at low budget places. Great recruiter, good coach, and has alot of connections in the South as well as the NFL. Give him our facilities, budget, and fan support, he will flourish. He deserves a look.

Not to mention the fact that 6 of those wins were by a margin of 7pts or less. Louisville could just as easily be at 4-8, Very risky hire imo.

My bet is with all the Gruden talk, we have a strong candidate. Looking at current coaching salaries, if we really are ready to make a huge splash, get ready for a $4M + offer to Brian Kelly. Isn`t he currently making <$3 M per year currently?

You know I totally agree with you about Petrino I would love him to come to UT. But, if I was a kid getting recruited by Petrino himself I would look at him and just think of a guy getting busy with a girl half his age, and I dont know if I would want to go there. You see what I am saying?:lolabove:

I've got no idea what you mean by that. FSU had the number 2 recruiting class in the nation, is a very historic program, and was number three in the nation earlier this year. He would be a GREAT hire.
:eek:lol: you left out that he got thumped by Fla :eek:lol::whistling: tremendous hire OOOOOyaaaaa

No way Jimbo is coming here, another UT fan pipe dream..he has got it rolling at FSU.

I think realistic possibilities are:
Butch Jones
Charlie Strong
Larry Fedora
Art Briles

Al Golden? doubt it.

I personally would like Kliff Kingsbury, Dave Doeren, Dan Mullins, or Larry Fedorra.
