I have seen all of the ladies games this year. I believe that their best starting five is as follows:
1. Walker (1)
2. Suarez (2)
3. Burrell (3)
4. Davis (4)
5. Green (5)
If Horston play like she did against WVU she could work her way into the starting lineup. She still needs to handle the ball better. Key still needs to play tougher and not foul so much. She is a good shot blocker. KK played well against WVU but still has trouble maintaining control of the ball in the post. Salary seems like she has the potential to be a good point. McCoy is tough but not a real scoring threat. The rest are a mixed bag. In reality KJH has a good group if she uses them wisely. However, I think to be successful, she has to find her five best players and give them the bulk of the playing time unless there are fouls or injuries. I think that would promote more offensive and defensive consistency.

You mean the same Suarez that was shut out the last game against a non ranked team ?

I think Horston plays better off the bench so I wouldn't make her a starter but she is in my top 5.

I want these 5 playing 30 minutes plus.

Most minutes to least...
Burrell 35
Davis 33
Horston 30
Key 30
Suarez 20 (work up to 30 by end of sec play)

Bench...
Green 10
Walker/Salary 10-20
Rennie 10
KK 5-8

Horston
Burrell
Davis
Green
Key
I echo this lineup

depth chart:
1st guard sub: Walker or Salary (equal), Rennie
1st post sub: KK, Emily, Jaiden
First forward sub: Suarez (Tess I cannot say yay or nay until I see her play)

Walker has yet to show me she is better than Horston overall as a PG...as a backup, absolutely!
Salary has moments like last year's Horston did,,,I need to see if it will be consistent
Jessie passes up too many open looks and has to acquire more speed on both O and D

KK is a better O player/scorer but not the interior D game-changer that T is
Emily needs that breakout game. I believe it is in her and I think it will come out this year....needs foot speed as well
Jaiden is a good hi-post driver, but not an interior scoring threat and not a threat to shotblock (yet?!)

Marta has to learn to play US basketball. She turns the ball over and makes errors that a "new players" make,,but her potential if she can play like she did initially is off the charts

I have yet to see Tess play in an SEC environment/game so I cannot give an accurate opinion on her

I think we need to settle on one and cut out this mass substitutioning

I'll take the 4 to's for the extra production across the stat line
Horston had six turnovers in game one and only four in the last two games. Walker has been about 2 a game in 21 minutes. As a duo they are doing ok. I think we'll continue to see Walker around 20 minutes a game and Horston closer to thirty. Horston can play several positions and expect we'll see some two guard from her when Burrell is on the bench. Walker is 7 of 10 on two pointers and 1 of 7 on threes. I like that she has come in and played in the team concept she was the major shooter at WMU.

I respect your opinion and that a good starting five. But against some teams i listed in another post that starting will not work and i`m pretty sure KJH knows it.

Great observation. It's a mistake to always consider not starting an insult or punishment, especially for a young, developing player. Give me a choice between getting introduced to the non-crowd or big mins, I'll take the mins. I definitely think JH is top five talentwise. I also think right now, coming off the bench is best for her, most especially if (shudder) you intend her to be primary ball handler. Watch the first few minutes. Coach in ear. What are they doing defensively? What would you do? This has apparently been working so leave it alone for now.

We need to keep JH on the upswing by playing her in the very best position to score and rebound - 2 guard. I'd be much more comfortable w JH starting if it is not at PG. Which means we really, really need Walker to come thru.

Walker
Burrell
Davis
Green
Key or

Walker
Horston
Burrell
Davis
Key

Kelly said in her press conference today that her staff looks at data of lineup combinations to see which lineups are most productive. Maybe we’ll see certain lineups playing together more in the future.

I am fairly positive that the data does not support the present starting lineup as the most productive. I am glad that they are still determining this as it certainly is a factor in winning and losing.
