I use a combination of the WeatherBug app and WVLT text alerts. If I'm on the laptop I'm using The Weather Channel website, weather.com.

Dark sky app is pretty good for minute by minute forecasts of rain.

I used to use Stormpulse, but once they became a subscription site, I switched to Weather Underground on my computer and my phone.

I use radar's online to keep track of severe weather. I know where my house is located on the map and am able to keep up if were going to get hit or not.

I think most everyone on here is capable of the same but you might be surprised on how many people out there that can't even pick the county where they live out on a map and some who can have know idea where there house is located in the county.

Just tried a few different apps. Two are not up to my standards but one of them is.

The Weather Network app for Android:
This started off horribly when I entered in my zipcode which is clearly Knoxville and it thinks it's in Oak Ridge. The radar thinks it can predict weather through 4:30am. It has no status bar feature, it's got ads, and the layout is simply boring. The icon for it is literally a yellow notepad with "The Weather Network" on it.

Yahoo Weather:
This is a beautiful app with a status bar! It'd be a keeper for me if it had an active radar, it only shows a current single map photo. Put an active radar on this thing and it'd be money.

I just installed 1Weather and I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. It's got active radar, a nice layout, a status bar notification, and a lot of customization settings you can utilize. I'll give it a try for a bit.

I can't try Weather Undergound, or Arcus because my phone is so old. :)

My bro-in-law is a producer at The Weather Channel, so support it!

TWC has gone into the crapper, it's Entertainment Tonight with a short weather break. The 7 Day forecast shows only 4 days, people digging for rocks, and fat guys climbing trees. It is HORRIBLE !!! :furious3:

Radarscope app. Sure it's $9.99 but it is awesome. Comes in handy when tornadoes are bearing down.

As for regular weather, I generally go to message boards devoted to that kind of stuff. They have a lot of meteorologists who post there and I get more accurate weather forecasts than I would watching the local news

I'm still trying to figure out why no matter what radar you're looking at it's always 5 to 10 minutes short of real time depending on which app, website, or feed you're looking at. Shouldn't we be seeing real-time radar by now, if not at least down to 1 to 2 minutes?

NWS for forecasts, but for whatever reason, I've always had the habit of using Intellicast.com whenever I want to look to see what the radar looks like.
