Which team has the best chance of thumping the Gators?

Florida has two weeks to sit at home and think about how they blew their undefeated season. How will they respond?
Georgia has two weeks to wit around and think about how they lost to Vanderbilt.

The Cocktail Party is going to be a game between two very, very fired up teams.

Well, they get to play Mississippi St. first. That should probably give them some confidence going into the Florida game.

I don't think South Carolina has the talent to beat Florida. I doubt that all the fire in the world could propel the Gamecocks over the Gators, short of Meyer putting 11 corpses on the field.

That was pretty much the thinking going into last year's game too.

I don't see it happening. None of those three teams has looked anywhere near the caliber needed to compete at the top of the SEC. For Florida to lose, they'd have to come out just dead and I don't see it happening.

With a week off to lick their wounds and forget about tonight, they will lay waste to Georgia. Count on it.

South Carolina is home and its Spurrier's homecoming. That place will be rocking and the Gators will be juked something big. Florida will not lose that game. Period.

And then Vandy. Florida will win that game because it will ensure an SEC title game birth.

Barring something truly extraordinary (on par with extinction level asteroid hitting the Earth), its over.

I know, just stating that Florida won't coast into Atlanta.
Florida won't make it to Atlanta, IMO not just saying that because I'm a homer but that's what I really think.......Georgia or South Carolina will beat them.....Georgia won't be in a good mood....Two Tennessee teams in 2 weeks have handed it to them...They won't be happy...South Carolina, as much as I hate to say it...When you got Steve Superior on your side line, you always got a chance

It pains me, but he is largely right. UGA is garbage and vandy shot their wad for the year. i think SC has a chance, albeit a slim one.

Don't discount UGA. They could have a breakout game against UF. This is a big rivalry that usually brings out the best of both teams. Remember, UF had trouble putting Bama away and they have way less than UGA. UGA's DEs could have a huge game and mess with Leak's rhythm.

I agree completely. UGA has too much talent to continue playing this badly. I think it may be time for Richt to hand the team to Matt Stafford. He may not know the offense as well, but they sure aren't getting anywhere with Rick Claus . . .. errrrr . . . Joe Tereshinski.

I like SC's chances the best.

Counterpoint - I thought that we had too much talent to continue playing bad last year... but I would agree that its probably in GA's best interest to put in the kid for good.

The Joe T feel good story suddenly isn't feeling so good for the dawgs I suspect. :birgits_giggle:

I would say..

75% chance Florida runs the table
10% chance Florida loses to Georgia
10% chance Florida loses to South Carolina
4% chance Florida loses to Vandy
1% chance Florida loses more than one

...and unfortunately, 60% chance we lose to one of LSU, South Carolina or Arkansas - and 0% chance we lose to 'bama.

Ron Zook, Ron Zook
Ron Zook

It can be ANY team as my example. I could use Texas and Oklahoma's various losses to lower tiered schools in 2002 and 2003. My point wasn't about Florida, but about how ANY school can sneak up on a power.

This is true. I don't see it happening with Florida, though. Urban Meyer does a good job of getting his team prepared. That wasn't exactly Ron Zook's calling card.

Only other thing that's in Florida's favor other than, they're just better than the teams that they have left to play, with the exception of Vandy and UGA the rest of their games at home, the UGA game might as well be a home game though, that's in Jacksonville

Good point, and I think I was being extremely wishful. Georgia, IMHO, doesn't have a great chance to beat Florida, and I can't see South Carolina going into the Swamp and winning when Florida wants revenge. Vandy? I'd hate to pin my hopes there. :(

I think both SC and UGA have a shot. SC will have to play a perfect game for it to happen. UGA can only hope that Matt Stafford develops over the next few weeks to the point that they can turn things over to him.

I agree with this guy, But I only want the gators to lose if Tennessee have a chance to go to the SECCG

Personally I don't care if a Steve Spurrier coached team ever wins another football game. His constant whining about lack of talent at SC makes me tired.

Winning just two game will make UGA's season better. UF & GT. Believe UGA wins 23-17. 65 yard punt return.

Florida could possibly lose another game for one reason: Chris Leak. He is not the type of QB that leads a team against adversity. UGA and USC can put enough pressure on him to make it anybody's game going into the 4th quarter. And, if it is anybody's game in the 4th quarter then anything is possible. Did you not watch any games last week besides your own Florida fans? You think Indiana has anywhere near the talent of Iowa?

Again, don't shortchange UGA in this game. If Moses and Johnson come alive, Leak will fold. This game could come down to special teams.

True, but I did not forsee Arkansas competing with Auburn, much less beating them!
