Yessir. That's the stone cold truth. $45+. Local store even ran out of regular woodford this month. Just a ridiculous and overpriced situation. I just stock up when I visit family or go anywhere across state lines. How much do they charge? We charge 29.99…
Also get about 4-5 cases a month and just put it out for the locals to buy.
The gubment ruins everything
There certainly stores here that price it high but we don’t. I see both sides of itYessir. That's the stone cold truth. $45+. Local store even ran out of regular woodford this month. Just a ridiculous and overpriced situation. I just stock up when I visit family or go anywhere across state lines.
Was going to get woodford as a xmas gift for my son-in-law only to see no woodford other than a single bottle of their double oaked so he's a winner on xmas morning. Silver lining I guess. What puzzles me is that certain distilaries apparently refuse to deal with the state boards and just bypass us altogether. Limited amounts of any Buffalo Trace products outside of restaurants. No Michter at all...none....nada. Just weird the way they do things. Consumers here are very, very limited. Scotch isn't as bad, but the prices for single malts are even worse. Guess I should be happy with what we have, but I'm definitely doing some major shopping outside the state for my xmas presents. There certainly stores here that price it high but we don’t. There’s no reason for a store to run out of all of woodford though lol
Single malt pricing has sky rocketed since COVIDWas going to get woodford as a xmas gift for my son-in-law only to see no woodford other than a single bottle of their double oaked so he's a winner on xmas morning. Found a hidden gem. Aerstone Single Malt Sea Cask 10. $30. Ecellent. If you prefer the peat, they have a Land Cask 10. Same price. Been trying other Scotch and Irish and American Bourbons & Whiskies, but have had 2-3 bottles of this and will go back. Excellent single malt for the money. The one that trumps it for my taste is hard to find. Brenne French Single Malt. 2 primary releases. A $50ish bottle Brenne Estate and a $80 plus bottle Brenne Ten. The cheaper one is the better one to me, and it is fantastic. Can't get it in Cookeville due to distributor territory stuff, but supposed to be available in Nashville and Crossville. Was going to get woodford as a xmas gift for my son-in-law only to see no woodford other than a single bottle of their double oaked so he's a winner on xmas morning. Brenne's website lists a store in Knoxville. Other searches show one store downtown Nashville. Gay St maybe. Statewide search of GA shows several in ATL, but none near Valdosta where I'll be next week. I know it is avaialble in Nashville somewhere, My cousin turned me on to Brenne, and left me a bottle on my porch. Local liquor store did a search for me and told me nashville and crossville. But, I haven't gone out of my way to search and find.I don’t believe it’s available in middle TN
