Who’s Your SEC Tourney Darkhorse?

UK is it for me. #6 in this conference is plenty low enough to qualify. They could potentially have to beat Alabama, Florida, and Auburn in consecutive days to win it.

Is none an option? Maybe Arkansas, but it won’t surprise me if 9-16 are all eliminated before Saturday with only one or two playing on Friday.

Don't like it, but UGA has been notching some good wins on back half of season. SEC is such a gauntlet. I'd probably put Vandy second.

I think Vandy makes the most sense.
A&M or UK. The top 4 seeds are already placed in the Ncaa Tourney, so how much motivation can we expect? But I imagine Auburn would love to get the egg off from the home loss to bama. Vandy won't. Ain't nobody winning 5 straight in this league.

Looking at 9-16...not sure I think any can make the Championship game on Sunday, but if I was picking a win 2 games darkhorse.

11 Georgia can beat OU and Kentucky with how they've been playing lately and they beat both those teams in the regular season (at home though).
9 Arkansas for sure think they can beat South Carolina and should be able to beat Ole Miss too. Big time underperformed this year with the talent and coach they have, but Cal has always had his teams ready to go for the tournament won 4 of their last 5 and also played A&M and Auburn tough on the road they'll want the "get back" against South Carolina and could get confidence going that carries them into a win over Ole Miss
12 Vandy they can beat Texas and A&M
13 Texas, weird to have them right there with Vandy...but Tre Johnson went 0-14 against OU and he might be the most talented player in the SEC. Don't think he's going to end his college career on a down note and they need a win or 2 to make sure they get into the big dance.

South Carolina, LSU, and OU are bottom seeds for a reason...don't trust those 3 much. Mississippi State lost 4 of their last 5 games and only one was to an AP ranked team...seems like they've packed it in or something

I do wonder about the Cats. I know none of us wants to see them overachieve, but their past couple games (LSU not as much of course) begs the question whether they’ve found a rotation that’s perhaps better without Robinson. I still doubt their consistency and ability to play good defense often enough, but at a minimum I think they’re a team to keep an eye on in Nashville and perhaps beyond. God I hope I’m wrong.

I think many a UK fan would disagree with you on that based on his last 3 years there.

Not only did Cal's last 3 UK squads get bounced from the NCAAT early, they got bounced from the SECT early after having pretty strong finishes to the regular season. It wouldn't shock me at all if that pattern continued.

I think Georgia could have a run. They have had a good last three games.
They’re just so erratic though aren’t they?! There are flashes of brilliance, and then they come a hair’s breath from blowing a 27 point lead at home. Granted it was to a very good FL team but still. 27 points!!

I think they’ve had to do some tinkering due to injuries, but their biggest challenge has been playing up or down to the competition. I expect a deep run from them since it’s do-or-die time.

Ole Miss. I don't think any team playing on Wednesday can win the tourney because of fatigue. I think Ole Miss would have a chance because they would play Auburn in a quarterfinal and I think Auburn has lost some interest and mojo since they clinched the reg. season title.

I was just going off many of our fans reactions losing to them. You would have thought it was the most embarrassing loss in the last 5 years, so them winning the SECT would qualify as darkhorse
Anytime you lose to a team from the dumbest and poorest state with a woman beater as coach its embarrassing.
