Who are the idiots hosting the Treece show?

I was screaming at my tv begging for CCM to put someone else on him.

I kept saying WHY?
Not sure we would have won if Martin didn't make the change.
Richardson gave up 4 points to him in the last 2 overtimes.

Pretty well?

Turner scored the second most points in a game in his entire career against us. I'd hate to see what he would have scored if McBee played bad D against him.

Alright, then tell me. What was the breakdown of points with both guarding him? And what were his percentages? I am just curious; I don't know the answer.

Really? Richardson was his primary defender. Why wouldn't coach make the change back?

He just couldn't while Richardson was sitting on the bench.

He played 43 minutes.
He was on the floor for long stretches the same time McBee was.

I know McBee was on him a good portion, but when Turner got hot, and guys were switching/helping I saw several other of our guys get facial'ed.

That fadeaway is a helluva drug!@!!

Here is the ESPN play by play chart. Richardson picks up his first foul at the 10:38 mark of first half. I assume that Richardson guarded Turner the entire time- Turner already had 8 points by then, but don't know for sure.

Richardson gets his second foul at 5:17 of first half and sits the rest of the half. From that point until halftime, Turner had 2 points, a jumper with 9 seconds left.

Richardson picks up his third foul 29 seconds into the second half. I would say that he sat right away. Skylar gets a steal at 18:53 mark. Richardson comes back in within a few minutes but does not defend Turner because he has 3 fouls. Richardson picks up his fourth foul with 6:32 left in REGULATION. From the time you can assume Skylar defends him, I count Turner with 11 points on FG and 4 FT's the rest of regulation. However, Turner had no FG's from 12:00 left in regulation until the end- only 4 FT's.

Skylar had Turner in the first OT, and he had 3 points. Turner had 4 points in the second OT, and I don't know who guarded him because Richardson got the block at the end of that OT. Turner had 2 points in 3rd OT and 2 points in 4th OT presumably all against Richardson.

There it is......you all can believe what you want. It's a free country.

All good. Tryin to assist a little in your debate. Nobody(with sense) thinks McBee is a better defender than J.R. I just believe NOBODY in the SEC could have done much better on Turner Sat.

Well, we know UK and OM couldn't because he scored 40 and 37 against them in a regulation game. He scored 21 against Auburn on only 6-12 shooting. He scored 21 against UK at home. He has also had some duds- bad shooting games.

Based on that play-by-play chart, Elston Turner was 11-19 in regulation and only 5-14 in the 4 OT periods. He went from 57.8% in regulation to 35.7% in the 4 OT.

At least 4 of those he was being guard by J.R. before he got in foul trouble.

For the last 12 minutes of regulation, he didn't have any field goals and 4 free throws. Richardson then took him in either the 2nd or 3rd OT.

This has been debated today, and I was trying to prove my point that McBee played pretty well against Turner. Richardson probably gave up about 14-18 of his points, and McBee didn't give up a FG in the last 12 minutes of regulation.

Geez, what can Skylar do to get any praise? I am telling you that he played better defense on him in regulation than Josh Richardson did. Elston Turner can flat out shoot the ball. He had 40 against UK and 37 against Ole Miss....in regulation games.

I also disagree that Trae Golden could have guarded him. I love what Golden has done in the last 5 games, but he is slow footed and wouldn't have a chance against a 6'5" Turner. McRae is not fundamentally sound on defense either. But, that is just my two cents.

And McBee HUSTLED EVERY SECOND he was out there. He NEVER stopped trying for a second. All the people that give him grief aren't paying attention. Also, his 3 was the final nail in A&M's coffin !

I've stopped counting on Skylar to do much, if any, scoring... Against Turner he shot 3-4 from behind the arc and pulled back 12 points of his own. That pleasant surprise made Turner's night feel more like 26 in my mind. Plus, McBee nailed the dagger that A&M never could.
