I dont buy into "not being up for game" at this level. If a player cant be ready to play an opponent on any Saturday, pull them.

There's a difference in the emotion of "not being up" and simply lacking discipline, being prepared, and executing.

Nope. 50/50 players and coaches.

I disagree. Certain people just have that special something. I think Big Al or Ray Lewis had that special something... it wasn't coached.

The coaching is in how you leverage that special something.

I think Beasley does. He’s been through a lot and seems to play hard. I’m sure Cooper does. This team absolutely does not have a Juaun Jennings or Al Wilson. Milton may be less mentally tough than Bray.

This is a valid point. Hard to maintain that elite level of focus and fierceness when the pendulum swings against you. I'm sure we could find some tape of Cook or Schrader hanging chin (maybe).

As a team though, having players with that fire sure gives you an edge.

I just don't see that leadership quality on this VOL team.

Beasley has disappeared this year...Very frustrating

Had double digit solo tackles in the SC and TAMU games and a pick six last week. Last year he was playing beside Banks and sometimes Mitchell. This year it’s two freshmen one of whom is really struggling.

The answer is - there are none. Combine that with a coaching staff that has only one “fiery” personality and you get a team that wilts at the first hint of adversity on the road.

Milton always looks happy. If he's dong well he looks happy. If he or the O isn't doing well he looks happy. I never see him with intensity or fire in his eyes. I don't see Joe working his line or receivers.

Granted watching from TV I don't get the whole picture but he just doesn't look like a competitive warrior.

I’m curious what other people think. I just don’t see that we have any team leaders out there. By that… I mean a player that holds his teammates accountable. A player who gets in their face when they missing assignment or get called for a penalty. An Al Wilson.

The coaching show little if any emotion as well.
