i would have listed Toole but for my list you have to have written more than one novel, even if that one was pure genius.

My thought also. One of my favorite pieces of fiction and probably the funniest novel I have read.

I have a dozen or so of his works. Underrated for sure. An American treasure.

Larsen is good, a bit dry for my taste.

I forgot to add Chuck Palahniuk to my list. I have about all his books. He is a master of the absurd told simply.
