Who the hell did we piss off in the commissioner's office to start off SEC play? Is this punishment for Pearl's actions or just how the chips fell?

We played Fla today at a horrible start time of 11 AM (that seemed to benefit us though even though a number of people were just waking up). We would've had a much better home crowd with a night game.

Now we have to play at Starknaked on Thu night at 9 EST. That exactly isn't the easiest place to get in and out off. Our players will be lucky to be in their bed by 4 AM.

Then we turn around and play Ky at home at 12 EST the next day. That's ridiculous.

For all the idiots who claim that the student athletes couldn't juggle their studies and a playoff in football, they're full of sh*t. Look at that schedule. Our guys will be lucky to get home and in bed by 4 AM on Fri morning and then have to go to class. Then turn around and play another game at 12 EST in the morning the next day.

Oh please.

Who has classes on Friday?

I did. Not that I went to many of them, but still.

Their BS about how it's too much to put on the students is garbage.

The downside to all the TV games is the Thu night games in my opinion. I can't stand them. Does you no favors for Sat's games.

It was a joke.

I figured and I'm sure they don't make it to every class, but the hypocrisy of the NCAA and the playoff/bowls is a joke. Just look at any hoops schedule where teams have to juggle obscene game times to fit in all the absurd tipoff times for TV.

The best question about the SEC office is what do they have to do with Stokes being able to play? If he has been cleared by the clearinghouse which has been reported what is the issue. I know the SEC has other rules but I thought those we only rules regarding transfers?

Martin said Stokes has paperwork to fill out and turn into the SEC office. It should be just a formality and not a hold up.

He should be cleared by Monday or Tuesday and be eligible for Thursday's game.

As a general rule, if any team has to play Thursday/Saturday, they should have an evening game Saturday.

If anyone plays Thurs/Sat, they should both be home games, and the visiting team for the Saturday game should have just played no earlier than Wednesday. I haven't checked, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if KY has a Tues/Sat week to give them a lot more time, as if they need it.

Ky has the week off. They play at Auburn on Wed.

There should be a 48 hour rule. You can't have a game for 48 hours after the scheduled ending of the previous one.

48 hours basically rules out Thursday/Saturday. 7 PM Thursday tip ends at 9 PM. How many 9 PM Saturday tips do you see? But, say. . . 42 hours. Yeah, that'd make sense.

The worst they've ever done was make Arky play on a Thursday and then go to Rupp on Saturday, with UK not having played since the previous Saturday. I think it was Cal's first UK team. SEC office basically wrote a beatdown for Arky into the schedule.

This will toughen up the Vols for when they are in the NCAA Tourny this March.

This is a bit frustrating. I wouldn't want to use it as an excuse, but it's hard to say that it's not a factor.
