Who do you pull for?

1. Kevin Harvick ~ He doesn't win alot, but I like his attitude on and off the track!
2. Smoke ~ Will make the Chase this year (I hope)! Another guy with attitude but isn't cocky like shrub!
3. Clint Bowyer ~ Cheerios? Seriously? Great driver and will only get better with seat time!
4. Jeff Gordon ~ The guy who brought Nascar to mainstream, you can love him or hate him, but you gotta respect the resume he brings to the table!
5. A.J. Allmendinger ~ Hope he doesn't get scooped up by open wheel again. Good driver who is learning the COT and should get a full time ride!
:swoon3:

Was this after Dale Sr. died ? WOW !!!

How can you not like a robot that never does anything wrong?:whistling:

Honestly he's the most pessimistic person in the garage I swear. Just watch every race when they talk about Kenseth and his car its always junk or its blowing up or the setup is garbage. I started noticing that from the start with him and thought is this guy EVER satisfied? The car can't always be tore up. I mean I've seen races where he whines and pouts about the car tearing up and being crap and then he winds up winning. I'm sure there's alot of other guys that would like to drive the "crap" he does.

That's it more than anything else - I just can't get behind someone that is that negative all the time. I mean every driver complains from time to time but not every single race do they complain that they have terminal problems with the car like Kenseth does.

honest question, do you ever take a scanner to the race?

the Busch brothers, along with Tony Stewart are by far and away the worst i have ever heard. sometimes i'm not even sure how they can find guys to work on their cars by the end of the race.

i'm not a fan of Kenseth either, but i don't dislike him, don't really care where he finishes, and don't keep up with where he's running during the race. persoanlly, i think he's almost as exciting as watching people play cards on television. but i do keep his frequency on my radio because i like to hear him talk during cautions about what his car is doing and what the race track is doing. he's a smart driver and he's one of the more talkative.

Kenseth is also one of the guys who is always first to thank his crew chief and his team in Victory Lane.

that's just me though.

The two guys I pull for are MWR guys Michael Waltrip & David Reutimann but mainly anyone but the #24 & #48 and the Busch brothers!

I am not a Kenseth fan either. I haven't really paid a whole lot of attention to his interviews but i have noticed that he doesn't show alot of emotion and do see the negativity a little. I got turned off by his -I didn't do anything wrong I'm a clean racer approach.

I thought it was cool of Jeff Gordon to really praise Kyle Busch for being a great driver. He basically said that Kyle Busch has way more talent than he ever did.

I don't think Gordon deserved all the crap he got over the years but hopefully he is winning over some of the fans that used to hate him.

Sounds like a young Mark Martin doesn't it? Now who brought Kennseth along and into NASCAR? Coincidence?

with this being said, who do you guys think are the best to listen to during a race.. my dad and i were discussing who to put in the scanner for bristol.. of course jr, tony, kyle, jimmie, jeff, etc.. are there any others who are really entertaining to listen to? i remember listening to Jr the last time we went to bristol and every other word was a cuss word.. pretty funny stuff

Jimmie and Chad Knaus are pretty good, Tony and Zippy were before this season.

Jeff Gordon

Eventually Mark Martin's son.

(not positive)I think Matt has decided he doesn't want to race as much anymore. Mark said he is not going to push him to do it if he doesn't want to. That's part of the reason he is back in CUP full time again.

I'm pretty sure that's accurate.

And good for Mark for not pushing him into it if he didn't want to do it.

Here are my favs:

1. Mark Martin
2. Carl Edwards
3. Rest of Roush guys
4. Jeff Burton
5. Bill Elliott

Kyle Busch is my least favorite driver, but he is starting to grow on me a little. You've got to respect his skills and he also seems to be more mature now, which is good. His immature and cocky attitude was a huge peeve of mine in the past.

I am looking forward to Brad Keselowski getting a full time ride in Cup. When i was in the Seabees out over here in Port Hueneme, I had to pull a dozer out to Fontana for the summer race a couple years ago when he ran the 65th anniversary Seabee car. We got to meet him and he was a really nice kid. Too bad allmendinger wrecked him in that race. He had a good car.

It's all about Matt!!

Yes I realize he can be very pessimistic, but it's because he realizes it's not easy to win out there ad everything has to go just right in order to do so. He is so smart and especially now with his old spotter Mike Calinoff back, there is no team more entertaining to listen to on the scanner! I think he is just awesome, on and off the track.

And for those mentioning Matt Martin, keep your eyes out for Ross Kenseth. He's gonna be great too!

Is that his son? Haven't heard anything about him.
To me Kenseth is too predictable when the microphone is put in front of him (except for when he won the 500, now that was pure emotion). It is like most of his lines are scripted.(jmo) He's a good driver. I don't pull for him or against him.

Well you can't learn a whole lot about a driver from 30 second interviews. Not exactly JR's strong points either. Listen to what other drivers say about Matt. And from what people who actually know him think about him. And fans like me! :)

And yes, Ross is Matt's son. He's 15 and he's pretty good!

I'll have to keep my eye out for him.
I'm a big Stewart fan. I've always liked him because he came into the sport driving every lap like it was the last and stood his ground no matter who he was up against. He always says exactly what he is truely thinking. He wears his emotions on his sleeves. I might not agree with what he says all the time, but he doesn't sugar coat anything.

Stewart is a great driver, no doubt about that. And I'm glad to see him out of the Toyota and back in a Chevy. I think it's great him running his own team and I wish him luck in that. However I have seen a few incidents of him saying one thing then doing the opposite. And I don't care for that.

Yeah, I think they all talk out of the side of their mouths sometimes. Do as I say not as I do.... I think being an owner is good for him. He seems a little more mellow this year. It will be intersting to see if that changes if the 39 doesn't start performing better or he has a few bad races.
