Who do you want more?

heaps or scroggins would be fine but im going with heaps for several reasons.
in order to be a qb here in knoxville you have to be able to handle the heat and heaps has a certain swagger about himself and i think that he will thrive on the pressure. he will also be sort of a package deal in recruiting. i also think that the system fits heaps perfect

i'm like a bunch of you guys...no clue on evaluating qb's.
however, i'm totally diggin' these comparisons of Heaps/Peyton when it comes to studying the game. Me likey.

Heaps= smarts

I think we can all agree that a QB that makes good decisions is more important than physical tools.

Can't go wrong with either, But I would have to say Heaps only because he is a student of the game......But I certainly wouldn't say no to Scroggins as that young man is impressive as well....But if I had to choose one....Heaps

Heaps looks the most impressive in the free online videos, he seems to be one of those "student of the game," four year type quarterbacks (a la Drew Brees, Ken Dorsey) that has the arm and accuracy to do some real damage in big time college football.

BUT!

Scroggins looks very good and he's doing it against much better talent in Southern California. I live in Seattle for two years where Heaps is competing and the level of high school football talent there is soft. I went to a playoff game between Bellevue and another Washington powerhouse and was not impressed at all, these are the schools that Skyline competes against. Well coached, smart kids, but the good athletes tend to look amazing in Washington because the depth of the competition is weak. I live in Wichita now where the high school football talent is just plain soft... not to take credit from Bryce Brown, but he was made to look that much better.

I want Heaps, but would not feel slighted if we got Scroggins instead.

Scroggins considering the questions regarding Heaps' size... but after watching video of all three, I like the Nance kid from GA as good as either.

I want it all

I want it all

I want it all

And I want it now

If I can't have it all then I'll take either. I trust our coaches enough to know that they know how to evaluate talent and to develop/coach 'em up. If Heaps is their #1 then that's who I want.

Scroggins. Nothing against Heaps, and I def believe we can and will win with either. I think Scroggins plays against tougher competition and doesn't have incredible talent around him on his team. He seems tougher mentally and physically. He can make all the throws and scramble pretty well. I have minor concerns about Heaps' toughness and how will handle th eventual loss. That being said both of these guys have a whole other year of HS ball left to play. It's early and they can both develop a great deal. We just need to land one and get this recruiting class rolling.

"eventual loss"? Maybe Jake comes here and never losses. I'm just saying...;)

Im betting when Heaps loses a game, and he will eventually, he is gonna hate it. I wouldn't mind having guys that hate losing. I want either, but it's hard to not think that Heaps might bring Kasen Williams here, too. Which would be nice.

on what are you people baseing your opion on heaps.
every vid that i have seen of him,he's always in the shotgun formation and not under center.

Good luck finding a high school with efficient passing numbers that runs a pro-style offense. O-lines on the high school level simply aren't good enough to protect the quarterback consistently when taking snaps under center.

Honestly I cant decide which one I want more, how about the one that commits to us first? :)

true. i would like to have them both. so, i want the one that wants to be at UT, not the one who came here because some other school got a quarterback already. someone just commit already, my livelihood and happiness depends on one of these 17 year olds committing to play football at my school
