I'm trying to figure out who his game reminds me of. Smooth, controlled/composed, great touch, good ball handling for a guy his size. Not huge and not a banger, but can play inside and out. I could see him bring the ball up the court whenever necessary. Decent outside shooter, knack for scoring.

Maybe a bit of Glenn Robinson?

Who else?

A poor man's Michael Beasley. The comparisons to Anthony are a disservice to Harris and a complete insult to Carmelo.

We can live with that.

If he's the next Big Dog, we'll be some happy Vols.

I like the David West, but I will also say Devin Ebanks (on WVU now) and Kevin Garnett outside game and Elton Brands inside game.. He can hit 19ft jump shots and also play down low. Avg around 10-13 rbs a game and also score mid teens in pts...but will be high single digits for the first 20-25 games in his frshman season.

Tobias can be a great one but we'll have to see him up against that talent to make the right comparisons. He's never needed to be physical to dominate before. That doesn't mean he can't, or that he won't develop more of a post personality.
There are always top recruits that don't pan out and low recruits that become Dwayne Wades. Look at CBP's first two teams.
Let Tobias be Tobias.
And Hatvol, why do you bother to follow UT hoops? Bigpapa said we'd be happy with a new Big Dog, which isn't optimism. We all would be happy with a new Big Dog, except you, because then you couldn't complain like you do. Or would you still find a way? Why not just go cheer for the Cats instead of being such a parade cloud on every Tobias post? That kid signing is a big deal, let us enjoy it for a day.

Honestly? Since I've never seen him play basketball, the guy on the left.

I'm glad you said it before me.
I've seen both Beasley and Carmelo play in person in High School.

Carmelo's game was way more polished in H.S. than Harris. His defense was a lot better, and Melo isn't a great defensive player, however in H.S. he didn't have to be. When you got Josh smith swatting for you, your not going to have to be a big presence down low. That Oak Hill team may have been one of the best H.S. teams I ever seen hit the hardwood.

BTW - Congratulations on an excellent recruit.

Based on the versatile nature of his game - he reminds me of Antoine Walker when he came out of high school in Chicago. That's based on skill sets and style of game - not the attitude/personality comparison. Tobias has his head screwed on straight - not the head case Antoine was. I'm sure he will be a good one.

It is sad - I always hate to see people screw up their lives like that. But in his heyday, he was a pretty darn good player. And I'm certain Tobias will be as well. Hopefully he can avoid 'Toine's life lessons.
