Slay, Haislip and Yarbrough were major underachievers and Slay looooooved to have 3-4 late night snacks...

Hard to be an underachiever if you're POY

Let's compare this years team to one of Buzz's team and see who had the best talent for the one year.

#5 Crump > Williams

#4 Slay = Harris

#3 Higgins > Tatum

#2 ??????? < Hopson

# 1 Watson > Goins

I Think Buzz had better talent that year than Bruce did this year but Bruce is a better coach.

I don't know that I could categorically state that Crump was more talented than Williams. One of Buzz's worst decisions, IMO, was to kick Elgrace off the team after him and Crump had a fight. Elgrace was an incredibly athlete who was dominant on the boards. Crump was soft (had a glass jaw, too).

I love Tobias and his upside is unreal at this point, but for anyone to say he was better than Slay after one year of play is on rocks....

I know that. Harris is still a better player.

harris will be better in time but comparinfg the teams slay was better and your foolish if you dont think that a player with slays numbers and also being first team all sec and also sec player of the year

Harris was not a better player as a Freshman than Slay was as a senior. That statement is was off. Harris has more potential but he is not a better player than Slay was, yet.

Slay was a ball player hands down and he was a leader that never let up. He is def the kind of player we lack now. We haven't had a leader of his caliber since he graduated. Chism is prob the closest.

Buzz was the worst men's basketball coach in the SEC in the last 30 years not named Wade Houston. He would have been lucky to make the NCAA Tournament if he'd had his college roommate on his team.

Um...let's not forget this travesty...HOW THE HELL IS WAYNE CHISM CHOSEN OVER BRIAN WILLIAMS AT THE FIVE!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Because I'm taking Chism over Crump ten times out of ten.

BTW, the two would be Scooter McFagdon.

In my opinion and I attended every home game of both teams, there is not that much difference in the talent level between these two teams. Chism made giant strides as a player and as a leader his senior yr. I thought he and Slay both would be nba players, not stars but players. They both had games where they dominated players who did go to the NBA.

I always thought Bruce had much more talent. The way he would yell and scream on the sidelines, often incorporating smiles and laughs in the process. And that painting himself orange bit really showcased his true talent level. Easily Bruce.

Darrin Horn and Dennis Felton thank you.
