Nothing wrong with not knowing who he is. What most of you guys call "classics," a lot of other people call "boring and cheesy." I personally can't stand The Beatles. They are undoubtedly the biggest and most influential band ever, and that's why they've maintained their popularity all these years. But it's pretty unfair to rip on younger people just because they don't know a member of a band they've never listened to.
So you acknowledge that they are "the biggest and most influential band ever", yet defend those who don't know who they are? Don't those two notions contradict one another? Thank God for kids today, then, that whatever artists they do think are relevant more than likely know who McCartney is. Probably Lennon, too. Maybe even George and Ringo.
