Same old story, GS. I think that you are beginning to make it painfully obvious that I have engaged you with incredibly more respect and tolerance of your positions than you deserve. My mistake, I suppose.

It is a factoid that we are shipping hundreds of millions of tons of coal to China annually.

Now if we are so afraid the sky is going to fall because of the release of co2 and are shutting down our own coal fired plants right and left, then does it make sense that we continue to ship coal China?

That equation doesn't make sense to me.

I wasn't even discussing our coal - I was just asking if China did not have enough coal for to meet their current demand. I thought they had abundant cheap coal and that was why they were building so many coal-fired plants. So, what you are saying is we hold china by the proverbial balls? We are their middle east? They certainly have built a lot of coal-fired plants? They don't have fuel for them?

Well America does have the most known coal reserves of any country, our better mining methods probably contribute their policy of importing coal from America.

Both China and India are building new coal fired energy plants at the rate of about two per week.

I would guess their demand is outstripping their ability to produce, at least for the time being.

Evolutionists who think their side is 100% figured out and to disagree is idiotic have a lot to learn about their own beliefs, IMO.

who claims it is ever 100%? And people that claim God did it all in a week and the earth is 6000yrs old kinda deserve that title

No, not that and I'm not taking sides on the subject. I just expect people to be able to disagree without referring to the other side as "idiots".

Anyone who disagrees with me is automatically an idiot! :)

Unless its my wife. Then I am the idiot. Sorry honey! I love you! :vava:

I believe in fluctuations in the average temperatures of regions on the planet. I have a lot of skepticism about the concept known as 'global warming' and that its cause is manmade. The problem, for me, is that since there is, without a doubt, a concerted effort to prevent any contrary evidence or papers to be published, then it makes me wonder what is being hidden and why. This lack of objectivity and intellectual honesty causes me problems. I tend not to believe what I am told. Especially when you can look at every major prediction by a warmer scientist for the last 40 years that have reached maturity and see that they are wrong.

Good post. That's the words that I was looking for to express my feelings on the subject.

THAT Jenny McCarthy? People listened to a supermodel?

Faith-healing... yeah, I thought that was the same as homeopathy. Either way, it's all idiotic.

So we can all agree that intelligent design advocates are anti-science since they refute the scientific claims of evolution while having really no scientific grounds to stand on? They just point to the "gaps*" and run...

*which are continuously being filled.

On a slightly unrelated note: Jenny McCarthy is hotter now than ever, IMO.

Intelligent design makes more sense than evolution. The evolution puzzle is not even close to being complete. When dealing with theories, treat them as such.
