Wow holy **** one more loss. That doesn't undermine the point.. She won the SEC tournament and went to the elite eight.

Given what Tennessee spends on recruiting and otherwise, should the team be in the top 10?

She won the regular season not the tourney. You're 0 for 2 on your "facts!"
She has been a big disappointment this year. Hope she turns it around. Fla & A&M up next. 2 tough games! You can tell Summitt isn't around anymore. She would have stopped that 2nd half debacle last night before it was too late. Holly's in-game decisions & coaching aren't good so far.

As an old saying goes, "It is hard to follow a legend."

That being said, Warlick will probably be here next season unless Hart can convince Jolly or Caldwell or another ex Lady Vol to come in with Summitt's blessing.

But she had Final Four talent on the floor. As she does again this season. But I dont see this team getting there. This team has no mental toughness. They dont react well to adversity. There is no senior leadership holding players accountable. They simply collapse when there is adversity.

Let's say you're the AD, and in this scenario you have to retain one of these coaches (Martin or Warlick), and dismiss one of them. This is based only on the performance to date. Which one is more deserving of being head coach at the University of Tennessee and why?

Who cares? Trying to compare men's to women's is ridiculous and should never be discussed. If you want to compare Warlick to anyone, compare her to someone in the women's BB world. This is a discussion that could lose your man card. There's no comparison in the two worlds.

Maybe that's because the lone senior is Simmons. She's been hot and cold for four years.

On the other hand, Maymon, McRae and Barton....

the Lady Vols are 16-4 and ranked 10th in the nation, doesn't look to bad does it ? Elite 8 last year, won the SEC regular season and she was selected for the Maggie Dixon Award, which is awarded to the coach with the best performance in their rookie year as a head coach.

she was a three-time All-American and set several school records, one of which still stands (single-season steals record of 141 set in 1978-79)

I'll take Holly's ability to coach the women any day over Cuonzo's ability to coach the men. Holly has actually won an SEC championship and gotten to the Elite 8 in only one year as a head coach. Cuonzo ain't done squat anywhere in quite a few years as a head coach. Cuonzo is a Division II or III quality coach, not a major college coach.

Holly Warlick has been on the Tennessee Women's bench as a player and as an assistant coach...and she has done quite well in both aspects. I think she had to feel some serious shoes when Pat stepped down and has done a pretty good job. She's made it to an elite 8, won a conference championship and regular season champions. Clearly she isnt overwhelmed or underrated. She's right up there with the best!!!
