Who is your coach of the year?

I have to give it to Cutcliffe. Auburn is 3 years removed from a national title and has recruited solidly for those years. They have a talented team that happens to fit Gus' system perfectly. Couple that with a Junior College QB that came through and Auburn is only doing slightly better than they should be. Duke is a different story. No athletic support for football whatsoever. No recruiting base. And they are on top of a division that includes Miami, Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech. Duke has about a fraction of the history of those programs, yet, they're playing for the conference title. That, to me, is simply amazing and a huge accomplishment for Cutcliffe. They may get destroyed by FSU, but they have had a historical season for that program. Cutcliffe should be given the award.

Whichever coach wins the SECCG. Pinkle/Malzahn

Bout to say just that. Winner of SEC! Cut has done an amazing job though and if somehow miraculously he upsets FSU then I would have to go with him but as for now its a tie between Malzhan and Pinkle.

What about Pinkle? I can see your Auburn argument, very true. But who had Mizzou with a winning record this year, let alone in the SECcg. Hell they are a kick away from being 10-0 and Proly number 2 in the nation right now. Just throwing in another perspective and a name everyone seems to be over looking, this teams plays in the SEC not the ACC. I can easily see a co-coy this year.

That's a valid point, but are you saying that Mizzou and Duke are equivalent in talent? I think the disparity in the talent department offsets the fact that Duke plays in the ACC and gives the edge to Cutcliffe. I'm not trying to downplay how great of a coaching job Gary Pinkel has done this season. I just think that because of the difficulty of the Duke job, Cut is going to edge out Pinkel.

AU had the talent, just needed a wrangler. Cut did it from the bottom up. Half his players look to be my size, 5'11" 200 lbs

Gus.

Hands down.

No 1st year sec coach has ever made it to the seccg. Ever.

3-9 to 11-1.

What cut has done is impressive. But I'm sorry.

What if it was CBJ that did it instead of Gus

Where would your vote be??

If Cut can pull an upset against FSU, it's him no doubt. Pinkel was great with a backup QB. Malzahn was great with a very talented team that had 2 miracle plays to win.

While I would have no problem with Malzahn winning COtY, I think everyone is making a bigger deal out of the 3-9 to 11-1 turnaround.

I think the amazing turnaround simply proves that Malzahn was running the Auburn program from '09 to '11. He had a hand in recruiting pretty much every player on his current roster, so they were handpicked to run his system. But without him in 2012, the team lacked discipline and focus. I think that simply proves that Chizik didn't do squat.

Chizik's name is attached to that national title in name only. Malzahn was the reason they won that title (Newton didn't hurt either). Malzahn left for one year to go to Ark St. All of the players that were recruited for his system were still pretty much there when he came right back. They changed head coaches, but didn't really change systems when he came back and their recruiting never really suffered.

I would be voting for Cut, Duke being in the ACCCG in football is something I thought would never happen. The last football coach at Duke was Ted Roof and he went 6-45. That is what Cut inherited when he took the Job. The fact that he has brought them their first 10 win season in the history of the program is enough for me to give him the nod. Win or lose against FSU I think he will take home the reward.
