In no particular order off the top of my head:

Louis CK
Jim Gaffigan
George Carlin
Lewis Black
Dave Chapelle

As far as Cook goes, I realize he's hated by the masses, but I won't lie........... I did laugh quite a bit at his Retaliation act a few years ago, even with the scrutiny of him stealing some of CK's bits. Haven't really kept up with him that much since then though.

I liked his first two albums but after that thought his act got old real quick.

Surprised there aren't any other Brian Regan fans here. I highly recommend him to anyone who hasn't given him a shot

Bill Hicks. By the time I started to hear him , I learned he was already dead. But a lot of people took his jokes. He was ahead of his time. Cancer sucks.

I could listen to Cheech and Chong, George Carlin, and Richard Pryor albums for hours.

Carlin's HBO specials are great. When he died they played all of them for like a week straight on one of the HBO channels. Most of them were new to me. I must have watched some of the same ones 3 times. They never got old.

Surprised Eddie Murphy's slide on the big screen has kept him off these lists. When he was pure standup, he was as good as anyone.

Raw and Delirious are right up there with the funniest sets of all time. I'm not sure Eddie wrote all his own jokes, but those movies are timelessly funny. I love the leather suits as well.
