Hell no. Why would we ever want to go back to playing in the two Columbias semi-annually and playing old quasi-rivals like LSU and Auburn once per presidential administration or even less?I certainly do. I’d like to see:
East
Tennessee
Alabama
Auburn
Florida
South Carolina
Vandy
Kentucky
Georgia
West
Texas
A&M
Missouri
Arkansas
Oklahoma
Mississippi state
Ole miss
LSU
I overlooked Ole Miss. So it’s remotely close but only remotely. LSU is a paper Tiger. A&M is a solid team but not top tier. So it’s Ole Miss and Texas on one side with UT, Bama, and UGA on the other. The East also has Vandy, which nearly beat Texas, and South Carolina, who could beat nearly any of the West teams on a given Saturday.Uh, yes it is. What do you mean "isn't remotely close"? As if Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, and Ole Miss aren't formidable and capable of beating anyone in the East on a given Saturday. Give me a break!
The divisions have been favorable to TN at times, but the 2 best teams in the SEC should be playing each other for the ship. I just don't know how long it will last when there is a possibility of 2 teams playing each other 3 times in a year. This is yet another reason that strength of schedule needs to weigh more with the selection committees. Indiana and BYU have no business being in the discussion at this point. Penn st also has not beat a ranked team. Any of the 3 will get dominated in the playoffs imo.I certainly do. I’d like to see:

Tennessee

Auburn
Florida
South Carolina

Kentucky
Georgia
West

A&M
Missouri
Arkansas
Oklahoma
Mississippi state

Actually we do play Georgia next year.Divisional play with a championship game is the only way to have more balanced scheduling that is more fair. Plus, they maintained/created good geographic rivalries.
These unbalanced schedules suck because they are not fair.
We don’t even play Georgia next season, which is a travesty IMO.
Actually we do play Georgia next year.
The SEC (in its infinite wisdom) decided last year that 2024 and 2025 would have the exact same conference pairings except for changing out the home teams.
In 2024, Vols hosted UF, BAMA, UK, MSU and played at OU, ARK, UGA, VU.
in 2025, Vols will play at UF, BAMA, UK and MSU and will host OU, ARK, UGA, VU.
I believe the players like it the way it is. Fans should too, for the same reason. They get to play in every SEC stadium if they play here for 4 years.
