Whatever happened to Ja'Kouri Williams, Prep Star All-American and speedster? Is he hurt or did we waste a scholarship on him?

They've moved him to receiver and as far as I know nothing is wrong with him, he's just buried on the depth chart.

If he is a receiver he should be able to catch the ball, so why not put him to return KO's? (P.S. I know the "mole" reports to CPF ever brilliant idea posted on this board but that's OK. Anything for the team.)

ja'kouri sounds good to me. or lucas taylor. i say no to foster, meach, morley, and hefney. we need those guys and cant afford losing them to injury. especially with our upcoming schedule. hopefully this wont be a big issue, i dont want us to have to return a lot of kicks anyway. 1 kickoff return sounds like plenty to me.

He got one a carry against somebody earlier this year and fumbled. I forget which game though.

Yeah he did didn't he? I believe it was the Cal game. I've seen him warming up with the receivers as of late.

It was the Memphis game. Something screwy happened when he tried to take a handoff from Bo Hardegree. That turnover resulted in Memphis' only score. Jakouri was really good as a gunner in punt coverage last year. I haven't noticed him doing that this year.

There'll be a new look for Tennessee on kickoff returns Saturday against South Carolina.

Sophomore Ja'Kouri Williams and redshirt freshman Marsalous Johnson, two guys who have never returned a kick in college football, will be deep for the Vols.

"They've done a good job of catching the ball and working," UT coach Phillip Fulmer said Thursday. "We can always go with some of the old heads if they want to, but those guys will do fine."

Fulmer didn't appear nervous at the prospect of having the inexperienced duo.
"I'm not really," he said. "They've played a lot of football before and they're anxious and excited about the start."

Yeah, it will be Ja'Kouri Williams and Mars Johnson returning kicks.

I like the idea of putting those two back there. Mars could be an electric return man. Ja'Kouri had pretty good speed coming out of high school. He just never got into a rhythm at running back.

Other guys I would like to see returning kicks:
Ricardo Kemp
Quinton Hancock
Jonathan Wade
Slick Shelley
Antonio Wardlow
Sinclair Cannon

I doubt Wardlow and Cannon would be mentioned by anyone else, but they are just two names that came to mind.

Can't wait til next year. We should have plenty of options at KR:
Lucas Taylor
Austin Rogers
Mars Johnson
Ja'Kouri Williams
Ricardo Kemp

Incoming freshman:
Eric Berry?
Brent Vinson
Anthony Anderson
Art Evans
Daryl Vereen
