Any thoughts on the November election for Governor? I'm starting to see more commercials from Haslam and Ron Ramsey.

It is not blind partisanship. I prefer democratic policy over republican. Not that I agree wholly or blindly with all they do. With the control that is exerted on this state by business and republicans the only balance we have is a Democratic Governor. Those Haslam adds should scare the hell out of anybody.

Please explain this, as I've watched over the years democrat and republican policy differs less and less every year.

that supposed control is the same thing that resulted in mutliple toyota plants being built in tenn rather than the union states.

See, now I am really confused! Are you sure you want to keep voting based on party alone?

I know it's not a good reason to vote or not vote for someone but the Ron Ramsey "give um da boot" commercials are getting on my nerves.

Confusion in politics?

The effort to get those plants among others here was a decision by both parties. Location and interstate accessibility to the rest of the country was one of the selling points massive tax reduction and free money was some of the others. Jobs. Just one of those gray areas that make for those strange bedfellows in politics.

i'd argue it was because tenn isn't a union state and we all know the democrats love love love the unions.

Yea, We need more underground bunker ballrooms paid for by the taxpayers of Tennessee.

I need to research this more as well

because of my work schedule and my job in general, I know more about North Carolina politics than I do Tennessee's.

in a generic sense, I'll vote for whoever:

-keeps taxes low and will not institute a state income tax
-keeps Tennessee a right to work state
-openly supports what Arizona is doing in regards to immigration
-would have the stones to be seen with NJ governor Chris Christie

Haslam will get 60% of the vote. McWherter cant even raise any money. Every left leaning democrat running foot congress has bailed out of the race not wanting to get embarrassed on election day!

+1... location and interstate accessibility is a hugh selling point for Tennessee.

Then you would lose that arguement.
If you think these plants are locating in Tennessee because Tennessee is not a union state, you don't have a clue.
Tennessee has a lot to offer companies to locate here.

yeah, the fact that TN is a right to work state has nothing to do with those things it can offer companies...

Some republicans seem to have issues with Haslam, saying that he leans too far to the left, but I like what I've heard from the guy.
I realize that it's easy to blindly vote for a party, but that really is a big mistake. Though it may be tough to learn all the info needed sometimes, please only vote for the people who you know that you support.
I usually vote GOP, but I just couldn't vote for Van Hillary.
