Who should run for President in 2012?

Each religion runs on a continuum from firm believers of every word of the Gospel to mere affiliation.

Nothing Romney has spouted has ever sounded as inflammatory and demented as Wright regardless of how religious each is.

Go back and look at what the LDS was saying about African Americans as little as 30 years ago. It just doesn't get the press because Mormons, wildly enough given their stated beliefs, have become mainstream.

And I believe he and his father held church leadership positions, making it a little more than an innocent "affiliation".

Obama never held a leadership position but the church leader was his chief spiritual adviser and confidant, does this mean that black liberation theology is "mainstream"? And why should a member of the LDS be any less palatable than BLT? It just doesn't make sense to me, this country is in serious trouble, mainly because there are just way too many morons among us on both sides of the political spectrum.

That shouldn't mean a damn thing considering Obama's church of choice was spewing out anti-American, anti-white rhetoric as little as 2 and 3 years ago.

Just pointing out the stupidity and hypocrisy of Americans and people in general.

It absolutely should mean every damn thing.

If we are going to bring out the racist comments of Rev. Wright then Romney's racist church views should be given the same consideration. I think the LDS flat out racist views are just as despicable as the racist views of Rev. Wright.

People can sugarcoat this crap all they want. The simple truth here when it comes down to dangerous church beliefs, the only separating factor here is how the media decides to cover it. I've brought this up before...but the comparison of the Fundamentalist Texas LDS Polygamy cult to Islam...mainstream even...it a perfect case study. Both systems of beliefs can match sin for sin....multiple wives, systematic child abuse, undying support for spiritual leaders, abhorrent chauvinism...and then add suicide bombing and militancy and Islam is probably worse.

How were they portrayed? Islam is defended at every turn, and the fundamentalists are viewed as crazy.

This is ridiculous. You want to bring out the racist views of one candidates church? Fine, but do it across the board. My view is they are all crazy, but pointing out the craziness of one candidates church and not the others is disengenous.

I meant that in the case the LDS shouldn't turn people off considering they voted for a man who was just as deep into BLT. I just didn't word it very well.

you don't think there is a huge difference between something said 100 years ago and something said 2 years ago?
