What do you need?

12V DC to AC Power Inverter?

I don't think I want to run it off my car battery, so can I buy a lawn mower battery (smaller one than a car) and run a TV on it?

I need some help.

Just get there early, set up close to Stokely and bring some extension cords to plug into Stokely's wall.

I have a four door pax car and a limited budget.

Just trying to figure out how I can watch some football on the local channels before our games. I know a dish gets you ESPN and all, but I'll settle for the CBS SEC games and even Notre Dame on NBC.

Any more help?

I just clicked on that Honda link.

The SMALLEST one is 800.00

I'll go to Charlie Peppers before I pay that much.

LOL

You will need a fresh potato, copper electrode, zinc electrode, a digital or analog multimeter to measure Voltage or current of produced electricity and alligator clips/ leads.

I think the cheapest way is a car battery and power invertor. A generator is nice but they can be big and loud.

you don't have to buy a Honda. Honda is an extremely high end generator. you can get one for less than that.

if you sit at a bar for a considerable time, and run up a tab, by the end of the season, you will have spent enough to buy one.

we have a satelitte feed.

Do you think that a riding lawnmower battery would be enough, or do I just need to buy a new car size battery? I'm worried about using the one in my car and getting stranded because we wanted to watch Vandy and Mississippi...ya know?

why would you go through that trouble for Vandy/Ole Miss?

He might as well stay home and watch that since they're both night games.. I think..

Vandy/Miss don't play. I was just saying, I don't want to kill my car battery because we wanted to sit in a parking garage watching whatever games were on local stations.

OSU/Texas is at 8pm, I'll be in Neyland watching the Vols.

A standard TV uses quite a bit of power. I have a little 13" in the next room that is rated at 100 A. A lawnmower battery usually only provides 24 Ah. That is, 24 amps for 1 hour... This 13" TV would discharge the battery in about 15 min. and that is assuming your inverter is 100% efficient, which it won't be. You need a car battery these store MUCH more energy.

Freak, do you think you could put the dropdown for smilies in the quick reply, or is that a pain? Vader was asking on PJ tonight why we don't have that here...
