Just curious is anyone would like to pontificate on player transfers after this disastrous season. My guess, not based on knowing any kind of inside info mind you, would be Meme Jackson and Tea Cooper. After Delino Deshields comments on twitter concerning Holly's coaching or lack thereof, I think Diamond also leaves. Jasmine Jones is also probably done too because of the concussion issue. This season turned really bad really fast, but next year could get a whole lot worse.

I think a lot of the people who post in this particular forum will be transferring out once they realize Holly will be coach for the 2016-2017 season.

I'm sure a lot of the players are not happy, I sure hope they all stay, but we could see what happen at North Carolina happen to Tennessee, I dont see DD leaving she will probley only play one more year and if she left she would have to sit it out.

No way DD transfers. If she leaves it will be overseas for a season. Dunbar is a possibility because she can shoot and has displayed a great attitude. Middleton loves Tennessee and will stay. Jones career may be over. MeMe will stay because she hasn't had a chance to show her ability to other schools. Carter is damaged goods (physically and mentally) due to poor coaching. Cooper is a turnover machine and fundamentally poor on offense. Her attitude and her since of entitlement come into play as well. She probably stays because Holly will promise the keys to the kingdom. Russell's only chance at stardom is with the LVs, and she most likely doesn't want to sit another year. Nared will be promised a bigger role with Graves's departure. She probably stays, and she hasn't had the type year where other major teams will be knocking at her door.

A better question would be, "Who wants to join this disfunctional family?" Thus far, no one!

Alexa Middleton- MTSU
MeMe Jackson- MTSU
Te'a Cooper- I have no idea
Jamie Nared- Oregon State
Diamond Deshields- Pro ball overseas
Jasmine Jones- gives up basketball(Already has her degree)
Kortney Dunbar- Transfers to somewhere in the midwest

All just a guess by the way

Don't forget, even with the worst season in LV history, fan TBA attendance still is stout and better than 95% of the nation. Why would anyone transfer to MTSU when two LVs graduate and another's career may be done? PT will not be an issue for anyone since we may only have eight or nine players suited up for each game?

Would you want to stay at a place that is mentally draining on you??? and MTSU is their hometown school and not to shabby at basketball last time I checked....they also have former teammates that play there

I don't see a big exodus of players like the slew that left UNC last year.

I don't see DeShields or Russell transferring since they will be eligible in a year and have already sat out a year. DeShields would not be smart to transfer at this point because honestly this year has taken a huge hit on her pro draft stock, and if she takes next year off or goes overseas where scouts will not see her play frequently, she'll be considered a big wildcard of a pick. Next year will be a great opportunity for her to play better basketball while 100% healthy and improve her draft stock. That said, if Holly stays, I could definitely see DeShields playing overseas.

I don't see current juniors leaving with just 1 season of play left, which leaves just Cooper, Nard, Middleton and Dunbar. I wouldn't be shocked if any of them leave, although I think Middleton and Dunbar will stay due to the fact that they both seem to really love being at Tennessee based on what they portray in social media (I believe Dunbar is in a sorority and I am guessing both have lives outside of basketball that give them strong ties here.) That leaves Nard and Cooper as the ones most likely to leave, but this is based off of pure speculation and nothing I've heard or seen in regards to how they fit in, are liking Tennessee, etc.

If a change in coaching is made and a highly rated coach is hired, i think most, if not all, the players will remain Lady Vols. I also think the better high school players would still be interested in playing at Tennessee. Right now, Tennessee has everything to offer except coaching.
the hand writing was on the wall and should have been recognized when Pat's illness became evident and most of the coaching decisions were turned over to the assistants. This is when the decline began and it has now consuming the entire team, both coaches and players.

Something has to be done or the Tennessee Women's basketball program will bottom out. I fear that the most loyal fans ill leave the program and this program may not be able to get them all back. The longer the problems are not addressed the more difficult the rebuilding process will take. There are too many good lady basketball programs today for Tennessee allow the program to drop farther.

One can not blame this on the consolidation of the men and women programs. This decline began before that decision was made. We have been blessed with good coaches and fans in the past and I do not want Tennessee's women's basketball program fall to an "also run" status. What needs to be done needs to be done before it is too late to recover.

I don't think they can be called "Loyal" fans if they leave when the times get hard.

I didn't identify them as "loyal" fans. I ave seen the fans base for the football program decrease when poorly coached teams are run out on the field and the team loses game to teams they should beat and their ranking in the SEC and Nation fall below expectations. We have to realize that there are good coaches, excellent coaches and underachieving coaches. I don't want the women basketball program to underachieve and fall to be bottom of the Conference much less no longer recognized as a National championship contender.

The remainder of the women's basketball games will be played on the road against teams which we have, on paper, the talent to beat. Time to turn this team around has become very short and recruiting has come to a standstill. Facts are facts.

Looks to me like our "good" coaches rode Pat's coat tails a little too closely and got fat, old, and lazy.

What has Lockwood brought to the team in 10 years? Likewise for Kyra and Jolette?

It isn't just Holly that ruined the program.

Here is where you said loyal fans will leave.....sure fair weather fans will leave and come running back when Tennessee wins again. I agree that a coaching change needs to take place but I hate all the trash talk from our "Loyal" fans about Holly who has meant so much to our program's success over the years. She looked so defeated in the press conference yesterday and doesn't deserve our fans to act like immature children.

Feeling sorry for Holly? She's making a ton of money w/o improving the players, and meanwhile racking up horrible records and ending longtime streaks. Feel sorry for the homeless or sick, but not Holly. She is clearly STUBBORN and unable to objective critique herself, which would lead to anyone's downfall, especially a coach. Instead of asking what the players could do better, she should ask what she could do better. The players don't take accountability because she doesn't. Fire Holly!

Exactly. DD has already burned her red shirt to get here, and missed last season. If she makes a move, she might try to apply for early entry to the WNBA. But that might make her the first player in program history to leave without a degree.

Holly is a 3-time All-American at Tennessee and was one of the players setting the foundation for our future championships. She also helped bring us our first gold medal in the Olympics. She has been an assistant coach for 8 Lady Vols championship teams. What exactly have you done for Lady Vol basketball. Why do you think she doesn't show accountability? Is it from trying to depict meaning from post game press conferences? I know for a fact that she is trying multiple things to try and fix things. It's not working and she needs to be replaced. She is a great ambassador for the program but doesn't seem to have it in her to be a head coach. Comparing basketball to real world issues is ridiculous by the way.

I think if a new coach is brought in then many of the girls will stay but if not I have the roster looking like this next year;

Seniors
Graves-WNBA (NY Liberty, she is the type of Player Bill Lambier loves)

Moore-Pro Ball Overseas (May get a WNBA Camp invite because she can rebound and is a Shot Blocker)

Juniors
Carter-Returning and will play 35 MPG

Reynolds-Returning and will play 35 MPG

Jones (I think her mom realizes Holly's inability to put her daughter in the right position and doesn't want to risk it. A better coach would have her at her Natural Position where she would flourish)-She's gone if Holly stays

Sophomores
Diamond-Will head overseas for a year and come to the WNBA next season as a Top 5 pick which would only upset the fan base even more with Holly.

Nared-Transfers to Oregan State or Washington

Russell-Returns because Holly will continue to make players force feed her the ball

Middleton-Stays only because she loves UT

Dunbar-Transfers to one of her original final 4 and I think it will be between Baylor and Oklahoma State (Baylor would love her sitting out a year and being able to stretch the Floor with Cox (who would be a sophomore when Dunbar can return to action), Brown, and the other 6'5" post they brought in last year (who would have 2 years to play with Dunbar) and Mulky would be able to stick it to UT fans

Freshman
Cooper-Transfers especially with Diamond not being at UT. I think she likely leaves as well, Holly will attempt to shake up her coaching staff and I think the odd person out will be Law. Law will return to Rutgers to help Stringer and Cooper will follow her there and be able to sit a year and then return as a sophomore playing for a coach/coaches who will believe in her and let her play her game and we will all regret it.

MeMe-She loves UT and the moment she was offered didn't want to go any where else. She loves the tradition and everything about UT being from Murfreesboro, she will see a lot a playing time and is not afraid to score and will have to because no one else will which is why she would stay.

So I am predicting a team next year that has 5 players returning from this years team (Carter, Reynolds, Russell, Middleton, Jackson) we will pick up the Emily Schubert 6'4" Post player from Elizabethtown, TN (who is like a 2 to 3 star recruit but Holly has no other options) we will probably get 1 or 2 grad students (I doubt if it is Taya Reimer I think she would want to go somewhere she could play on the perimeter and not in the paint) and the rest would be walk-ons smdh

I am a loyal fan today and will stay that way, however, Holly has bought a lot of negativity upon herself. She is not managing the talent, she needs to rethink her offense, she is constantly out coached, recruiting is in a downward spiral, etc. Doesn't she and the staff review the videos and see how Russell is standing around watching smaller members of the team trying to rebound? That is only an example of how individual players are not coached, or not using what they have been taught.

She has done a lot for the Lady Vol program but now she is knee deep in negative territory. No matter how hard we try to throw individual players under the bus Holly is the HC.

It is not a shame to give anything a try, however when it appears that you are hurting more then helping, step back re-evaluate and honestly look at yourself. If this program sinks lower than it is now, and that is very possible, Holly's positive stamps on this program will be outweighed by her negative impact. If she hangs around just for the money, and continues to produce bad results, her rep will be permanently damaged. Again if she loves and respects the Lady Vols, as she claims, she will do the right thing. Fans and the University of Tennessee deserves better than what Holly is delivering.

This scenario very well be possible.Diamond may just transfer to a Division II or III school and play one year rior to entering te draft.
