Who wants to join a keeper league?

This is going to be a lot of fun...so when we drafting? LOL.

Not sure yet. I'm excited, so I want to draft early, but I also want to give people time because I don't want a Joe Nathan type injury and screw someone. I'm thinking sometime before the NCAA Tourney starts on that Monday night?

Probably a good time. Rosters generally should be set by then.

Alright, I have four spots left. Anybody else want to join?

I think that would be a prime time to do it. No sports going on, everybody will have the brackets done by then, and we know who will play/who won't, etc. Most injuries happen early in ST.

Indeed...I laughed at those who had Nathan but I would have cried if it were me, of course I don't pay for saves, plenty of scabs that can get you saves, happens every year.

Good way to weed some out, if someone is willing to wait until then to draft they should be all-in for the long haul.
How does an auction draft work? How do we determine draft order?

A owner sets nominates a player. Then players bid until someone pays the highest.

Let's say I nominate Albert Pujols and start the bid at $10.

You really, really want Pujols and so does NYYVol. We three keep bidding and usually raise the price $2-3.

Let's say it gets to $55 and you decide "Enough is enough" and bid for $70. NYY and I believe we get 1B almost as good for a cheaper price and let you have him.

That's usually how it goes.

I'm probably in the minority here, but that Monday won't work for me, I'll be working. The local league I'm in, we're having our auction on the 26th of March. Could we do Sunday the 3rd?

No. You're now kicked out of the league.

Like I said, I'll be flexible on scheduling. I've noticed sundays are usually the best days also. We'll see.

I don't mind snake, but I love the auction. You just never know what might happen (like when I spent $30 on Daisuke Matzusaka in 2009). There is so much strategy.

Also, just to be clear, it's completely free. You aren't spending your own money, you'll have a set number of points to spend on the auction.

After the draft, how often do you make changes to your team?

We'll have a trade deadline. You can make as many as you want though, but we are going to have a bidding system for free agents so no one person (like me) gets all the sleepers before everyone else (like me) and end up winning their league (like me). :)

I'm hopin Vercy gets back to me. I'd love to have him join the league (although scared b/c he might kill all of us).

I'm thinking Sunday in March after selection sunday might be our ticket.
