WHO warns COVID-19 pandemic 'not necessarily the big one'

Figures. As if federalism isn't bad enough, we can just double down on a new world order. The Brits were smart enough to dump the EU, and we can't see the writing on the wall with the UN.

An unlected globalist bureaucracy for a nationalistic unelected bureaucracy. Makes sense. As HWB said "a new world order"
Remember the 80's rancor by Americans to get the UN out of NYC and out all together?

It's unlikely that the particular unit disbanded wasn't duplicated in 35 other agencies and 53 officially funded think tanks. What the federal government actually needs is to be completely gutted and rebuilt one sensible block at a time, and streamlined so people know who does what and so that timely responses can happen.

If only a president would come along had actually followed through with downsizing the government instead of upsizing it...

Bad timing made to look even worse by democrats and the media. Saint Fauci even said that it wasn’t necessarily a mistake to disband the unit.

Is Fauci's opinion back on the menu?

I thought that was the whole purpose of the CDC to keep an eye out for stuff like this?

Let me know when that happens in the next four years. Since Clinton, it’s only been lip service from all of them.

Funny. That department everyone loves to screech about was actually combined with another department that did the exact same job.

So, this nonsense you and others like to go on about is just that, nonsense. It wasn't "shut down" like so many of you mouthbreathers like to fuss about.

I know everyone is calling this fear-mongering, but I actually think they have a point. I think there will be a pandemic 100 times worse than COVID-19 at some point in the future, hopefully not in any of our lifetimes. I'm hoping that what we've learned from COVID will teach the future generations that may have to deal with such a disease what to do and what not to do.

Did anyone actually look at the article? They were talking about a future pandemic which could be 50+ years in the future.

Exactly. The way we learned from past diseases.

Yeah Linus, my happiness is really dependent on that.
You've clearly indicated how happy you will be with a major blow to them and then in another post, you claimed you would be pissed if nothing happens. I'm just going by YOUR words. Plus, I like pulling your chain:p

meh. You don't pull it that much. I am a very happy person except when I think about how that slut is going to try to ruin my life with her communist agenda.

You would think so. We know there was duplication in the NSC (that Trump cut) - it would be interesting to know where else. That's one problem with bureaucracies; if everybody has fingers in the pot, then nobody is in charge and all are fighting for funding and power. The trick is to make separate agencies work together, but it's so out of control there's little chance of that happening.

Testing would be a huge one. If we're going to spend $3T+ and push to open the economy then tests should be readily available and even supplied (along with masks). There is still no defined plan of another hits a year after this is gone.

We've got a nice water barrier between us and China ... if we had enough sense to use it. Apparently viruses can't live and migrate that distance without manmade help.

They'll figure out a way to get it here. Their space program is progressing fairly nicely.
