who had some moves down low and knew how to score? I was watching UNC-Duke last night--and I was struck by how active their big men are--running the court, blocking shots, getting the ball and putting it in the basket. Granted, these are two of the best programs in college basketball, and so they get better recruits, and granted that the centers for these two teams are not great by any means--but they are /active/ on the court, and they know the game.
Williams has his moments and his games--he played well in the ncaa last year--but good grief he is not terribly active, he doesn't really have any good moves down low, and it's clear that we really lack depth at the center position, along with guard, and that's why this team is more pretender than contender.
It also helps of course to have one or two guys who can dependably make outside shots--what a difference!
