Who will be Georgia's head coach in 2012?

He will still be there unless things really get out of hand..

They open the season with Boise State and then have SC in Athens. They'll be underdogs in both. Meaning, they start 0-2 and there's not a snowballs chance in hell that he comes back. Hell, he might not make it to week three at 0-2.

Watching him this past season, it's clear he's only there for the paycheck now. Absolutely tanking their program...now that I don't mind.:)

It better be Richt, if they ever get a real coach we are done. Just give us two maybe three more years. We will be so entrenched by then it would take the US Army to get us out of their.

We can only hope that it'll be Mark Richt, I would hate for a good coach to come in there and turn Georgia around. Right now they're heading in the right direction in my opinion and I hope it stays that way.

What's funny is we were having this discussion about Richt on the recruiting forum. UGA Insider, poor sap, can't see that Richt's career mirrors Fulmer's in every way minus Fulmer having that 1 MNC.

Reading his quote of "Real UGA fans support the team and coaching staff" made me cringe since I remember those morons that put Fulmer ahead of UT's program. Looks like Georgia is heading down the same path.:eek:lol:

UGA will go after Kirby Smart when that job comes open. Muschamp would have been target #1, but now he's gone over to the enemy.

It's an interesting question, what Richt needs to do to keep his job. It's hard to know because nobody knows much about the new AD yet, but my guess is that he needs to win 9 games. Eight wins including UF might be enough. He really needs to beat Florida -- his job may end up riding on that game.

He also really needs to win in Knoxville. The UGA fans I know are offended enough that Vince Dooley's kid is our coach; Richt can't afford for it to look like Dooley's moving ahead of him.

I'm certainly going to suck it up this fall and root for Richt to do well enough to get another year. The longer he hangs on there, the better for us.

I also think the magic number is 9. Glancing at the schedule, there's no reason to think they can't get there.

It'd be lazy for them to force the Kirby Smart hire just to get a "Georgia man" on the sidelines. Seems to be the most likely outcome though.

I would tend to agree. I think the odds of UGA beating both UT and UF are somewhere between slim and quite slim. I think UGA will beat UF this year, but I think UT will roll in Knoxville. The Boise game and the UF game are the two most important games for Richt, imho. And I do hope he stays around for a long time. He is mediocre on his best day.

I hear Gruden has land outside Athens.

But seriously, it will be Phil Fulmer.

Folks Boise State loses 9 starters and all their important special teams players. UGA will beat them in Athens and UGA will also beat South Carolina. Not sure if anybody has seen UGA's 2011 schedule before they made their predications, but they should be able to win 9 (pretty easily) to 10 regular season games in 2011, so I expect Richt would be back unless they lose the SEC Championship and their bowl game. I expect them to be SEC East Champs due to their schedule and finish 11-3 or 10-4 depending on their bowl loss. I do expect Richt to be fired if they lose their last 2 games, because the only reason why they will have 10 wins is because they play 7 games at home and their only road games are Ole Miss, Vandy, Tennessee and a neutral game against UF.

Also UGA does not play Bama or LSU next year, unless they meet in the SEC Championship if UGA makes it.

Gus Malzahn (sp) or Norm Chow. Kidding about Chow. However, I do think it will be an offensive coach
