My guess is that with 50 or more scholarship offers, why would Gentry want to come here and know that logically, he would not start as a freshman, but be behind Ferguson?

Why not go to another top 15 program that would give him a real chance to start as a true freshman, rather than red shirt? Out of the top 15 programs in the country, surely the situation in a couple of them would be that he would likely start as a true freshman.

Players want early playing time, these days. However; if Ferguson has not locked down the q.b. position by the close of the 2014 season, then Gentry may have us in his top 5 and may untimately choose us. If Ferguson is the starter in 2014, but has played well enough to be the starter but not necessarily good enough to secure his place as the starter, then Gentry may seriously consider us.

And Ferguson has done what to date to cause you to draw this conclusion? I'm all for JD and RF getting it done and I believe they will based on practice reports. Drawing unfounded conclusions based on nothing is very weak.

I was reading an article on Sheriron Jones -247 - and says we offered. Said he might commit early to someone, because spots are starting to get filled at QB across the nation. Also, said he may even have to commit to someone without even visiting. Mentioned that he thought Tennessee and Florida would let him commit without visiting.
I went on reading the rest of the article where he said Florida's Coach White was telling him their QB this year (Driskell) was going to graduate and then was heading to the draft. Then there will be Will Grier and some other guy left. "I'm going to go up there and compete and try to beat both of them out to get a starting spot as a Freshman.
The very first post I read was from a Gator poster, TexasGator94. I laughed as I read, "Vols and Noles make me sick." Most of the rest of them sounded pretty sure of themselves that it was not a matter of if Jones would be to committing to Florida, but when. At first I thought that too, but after rereading the article how excited he was after getting the offer from CBJ and talking about how one of the best QBs in history, Peyton Manning went there. Also he seemed hyped up when he was talking about all the camps UT does and Jon Gruden and all that stuff. You have to know about Tennessee! He said he may visit Colorado, Florida, and now perhaps, Tennessee this Summer. Said he doesn't have any leaders at this time. He said evveryone that has givin me the opportunity to play for free and do what I love, they are at the top of my list. For giving him a chance and believing in him and giving him an opportunity to play for their team, they are high on his list.
That was a gist of the story from 247.

Sounds like he could be another possibilty.

If a top tier QB doesn't see this WR talent and beg to come here, then you got problems.
The biggest concern, IMO, with getting a top shelf QB is whether Bajakian can develop big time prospects.

I think we will get at least one more elite QB this cycle. I would be happy with Jones, Francois, or TG. Kind of hope we only take one more though. Give me one of those 3 along with Jennings. Not saying Jennings will stay at QB, but you got to like a talented, determined kid that wants to prove people wrong.

That's my biggest concern. For me it's not the OL, DL or QB. It's about the coaches being able to develop the talent. IMO Bajakian and Jancek will show their true worth this season.
