You guys take this talking to recruits too far... All because of one statement that JS made. These recruits are normal people. Not some God that us humans should never have contact with. Some recruits actually like all the attention from other fans... And besides I have a Lane Kiffin Fan Site.... and he added me. DC actually likes to interact with fans. He has said so. We have had many conversations most of which outside of football.

A national championship does nothing for your resume in the future. He could get to the NFL through Notre Dame. if he isn't going to make it as a pro, a degree from Notre Dame looks better than a degree from Tennessee.

I have several friends with engineering degrees from UT and a few cousins with medical degrees from UT as well and they all make very good money. A degree from UT is nothing to sneeze at. I also have a cousin that has an engineering degree from the University of Memphis and she makes damn good money. It may mean something to certain companies that you went to a certain school but if I'm making a high 5 to 6 figure salary I would be happy with that but that's just me.

The degrees you're talking about are completely different. Most people aren't doctors and engineers. It doesn't matter where you get those degrees from. You'll find a job in those fields. I am talking about average people, getting average degrees and looking for an average job. Around 40,000 or 50,000 a year. If two people are applying for the same job and one person has a degree from Notre Dame and the other a degree from Tennessee... who do you think gets the job? I am putting my money on the person with a degree from Notre Dame. Same with Vanderbilt, Stanford, UCLA, Duke, North Carolina...

Actually I'm putting my money on the person with better credentials, harder workings, better knowledge of the field they're going into. I guarantee the degree doesn't make that much of a difference where its from. Most of the time a person goes to X school for financial reasons, not for which is the better school academically.

I just looked it up...

National University Rankings

1. Harvard
2. Princeton
3. Yale
4. MIT
4. Stanford
8. Duke
18. Emory
18. Notre Dame
18. Vanderbilt
25. UCLA
30. UNC
108. Dayton
108. Oklahoma
108. Oregon
108. South Carolina
108. Tennessee

I just believe Notre Dame looks a lot better than Tennessee on your resume. Anybody who gets a degree in medicine or engineering is going to easily find a job. But like I said... most normal people don't become doctors and engineers. Every school has their strengths. I believe Tennessee's is business? Overall Notre Dame is a better school than Tennessee academically.

How are you going to know this about the person right out of college? They may have worked in that field in some way but they haven't held the job they are applying for. They needed their degree for that. Other than an interview.... you don't know if they are a hard worker. If we are basing it off the schools, Notre Dame is harder than Tennessee. If we're basing it off of credentials, Notre Dame is a better credential than Tennessee. I think you're underestimating the difference between certain schools. That's like saying it doesn't matter if your degree is from Harvard or if it's from Tennessee. It really does. In fact, some jobs will pay you more based off where you want to school. Someone from Tennessee could end up knowing more about the job than someone from Notre Dame but Notre Dame definitely looks better on your resume.

I agree that a degree from a prestigious school can create opportunities more efficiently, but ultimately, once a degree from some institution is achieved, success comes down to work ethic, passion, and humility.
